Hello, I was fairly recently diagnosed with genital psoriasis and looking for information about how it affects sex and links to thrush infections, as I have been experiencing some dryness/discomfort and recurring infection. I have read some things suggesting there is a link and was advised during diagnosis that it could make thrush more likely but would welcome anything more concrete, and- advice on what can do to prevent it....or if seeing a gynaecologist/ dermatologist/ other specialist is any use!
Thank you!

If you have been using corticosteroid creams in that area, that might be the cause as those creams are basically a type of hormone.
Being male I do not have that problem but still suffered P around my perineum and both sides of the groin and rather than too must steroid cream I ended up trying Cuticura dry skin cream with vitamins and that has helped keep it in check. Its not expensive and I'm glad I tried it.

I have psoriasis in the head of my penis (around the glans). It started to appear these red spots about 1 year ago. In few weeks became intolerable with burning and oily appearance. Very ugly.
After all the bad and wrong diagnoses so many of us go through, including being told i had to do circumcision at age 54 (!!!), a dermatologist confirmed my own research online that it is psoriasis. I had to find out myself. Urologist, dermatologist, etc could not pin down what it is.
Any how, after different creams, the only thing that helped me was to take Turmeric Curcumin. It was suggested by someone i read in another blog. This man said it has made his life back to normal...
As soon as i started taking it, it improved a lot. It did not fixed completely. But most of the time now, it shows some small red spots that occasionally are sensitive. The dosage this man suggested is 2 pills 2 times a day. And he went further to suggest the type and brand that worked best for him:
Doctor Danielle Turmeric Curcumin with Bioperine.
Since, i have researched a lot about this vegetable (a root) and it seems to be well know to improve the immune system..etc.
Hope this helps others.
I am still researching more and hope there is something else that can be added and improve completely.
