Hi, I have suffered with psoriasis since 2008 and it has never calmed down. I have used so many different creams/ointment/ steroid creams from doctors and nothing seems to help. I have also have had the light treatment which helped then came back worse after a month of stopping. My last resort was tablets which they put me on methotrexate /folic acid but this still doesn't help.
I suffer with psoriasis on my scalp and body and looking for help with who is the best psoriasis specialist in the UK and any other treatments which have helped others to see if this may help me to.
Thank you,

Hi, I just posted yesterday to say going gluten free is really helping my husbands psorasis. Like you he has tried all the creams and had the light treatment. We really wish someone had told him to try going gf hence me posting yesterday in the hope it might help other psorasis sufferers.

If light treatment and methotrexate haven't worked, your consultant will probably offer you another systemic (e.g. ciclosporin). If that doesn't work, I believe that you'd be eligible for biologics, which are the latest treatments for psoriasis and seem to have the best effects, and I believe can be used indefinitely as a preventative measure. They're super expensive, so that's why they're saved for last.
Methotrexate had no effect on me. Ciclosporin had a limited effect. UVB phototherapy cleared my psoriasis completely, but four years later and it's back worse than ever. A second course of UVB phototherapy make my psoriasis more sore and feel like it was burning. Booked in for a biologics consultation at the end of January.

Hi
I have just started using Soratinex (over £70, so not a cheap option) and at the end of my first week of using it, my skin has gone from being very flaky, itchy and covered in scales, to being virtually clear! I guess its too early yet to decide how good it is, but I am hopeful that it will work for me.

That will be mainly down to the salicylic acid 1.75% content (basically aspirin paste) and the soothing effect from the zinc & castor oil content. If you find it continues to work for you it might be worth making your own from base ingredients for about 25% of the Sorintex. cost.
