Hi been reading ppls problems with guttate psoriasis and getting their tonsils removed , I first got my first outbreak of guttate about 5 years ago every time I got a throat infection guaranteed within 2 weeks from it starting I'd start with a rash which started off small then gradually got bigger and bigger all over my body was worse on my tummy and my back but it was all over only place that was free was my feet hands and face 😞 ..... after going to the doctors all the time for new creams to try I finally asked to be referred to a dermatologist,,, I saw her took ages for my appointment by the time it came my skin cleared up ! But once again I got tonsillitis so it returned as per (2 weeks to be exact) anyways I did some research and it said about getting your tonsils removed ,,, at this point I was low as I could be I felt ugly sad depressed just so upset with my self I didn't let it stop me living my life , like goin to the gym really helped me but instead I was crying! So I went to see the dermatologist again this time my skin stayed flared for ages and she saw how bad it was so I asked for a tonsillectomy she referred me to the ear nose and throat specialist, I asked and they said yes to me if they didn't I would have gone private I was that unhappy. So I got my surgery, (painful) if I'd have known the pain I would maybe have thought otherwise, but I got better my throat healed , took about 2 weeks , in the mean time my skin was still bad especially on my tummy and back but slowly it started to go anyway on my arms scalp etc , I was left with the stubborn bits tho so I went for light treatment. This was 3 years ago in July and I just want to say don't give up . I feel all the pain that most go through some worse than others but for now I can enjoy my body that I was given ano there's so much more worse things in life but to go from clear skin to red marks all over your body messes with your head , hopefully I can shine bright like the diamond 💎 I was born to be for a little longer xxxxxxxx take Care all

Hi, I'm new here and was wondering if anybody can give me some advice please!
About 2 weeks ago I had tonsillitus (never had it before!) That stayed for about 10 days and made me feel really poorly. Then a couple days after that I started a new job which might have contributed to me feeling a bit stressed/anxious. Day 2 into the new job I come out in all these chicken pox like spots all over my body, back, forearms, legs and neck. I went to the out of hours doctor as I don't know what it was and he said it was nothing serious only Guttate Psoriasis. I was told it looks worse than it is and should clear up in a couple of days. Well it's been just 5 days now and from what I've read the doctor was wrong in saying it clears up in such a short space of time and I feel quite cross he dismissed it as "only" guttate psoriasis because this is a nightmare!!!! I feel itchy and it most definitely has got worse. I've put some Aveeno moisturiser cream on to help soothe the sores but I've got to be honest I can't see an immediate improvement. I still have a sore throat which I tend to notice more in the evening, not sure if it's linked or preventing the spots from going?? I'm taking vitamin supplements too, but other than that I don't know what to do? Should I go back to the doctors? How long will this last? I feel so ugly and awful, embarrassed almost in front of my new work colleagues. I'm worried it's going to spread to my face as the skin seems to have changed texture and quite itchy on my face although touch wood no spots yet. Any help in overcoming/coping with this would be much appreciated!.
Thanks and sorry for the long windedness!x

I would go back to your GP, to ask for some form of treatment. You may only need cream to clear it up. I have had psoriasis for forty years and I can only speak from my own experience but my skin has never cleared without treatment. Good luck. J

I bought turmeric 500 mg curcumin and I take about 5 or so a day. It’s really helped my guttate, it seems to fade it away but it doesn’t go away. I definitely suggest trying it! Getting in humira in a few weeks so I’ll let everyone know how that goes.

I’ve always suffered with plaque psoriasis and used to depend on dovobet constantly!! Would use it for so many weeks and then have to have a break because my psoriasis would look worse. Then about a month ago my skin become very itchy and I came out in all this tiny red bumps. The amount I got over 2-3 days was shocking ! My full body is basically covered in guttate psoriasis! I’ve been reading a lot of people’s comments on how bad dovobet is for psoriasis. I am currently taking probiotics and going on the sun beds while I wait to get referred to dermotology. How long is this going to last? It’s effecting my whole life and my relationship with my boyfriend ! Any advice would be so very grateful 😘x

Hi
I have recently been diagnosed with guttate psoriasis after having tonsilitis. I've had the rash for about 2 weeks now it started on my chest and back and is now everywhere but my face. I have cream from the doctor who told me it should clear up in a few weeks. From what I'm reading though it may take longer and possibly get worse. Anyone else suffering from this that could give me any advice? It's really affecting me I'm alarmed at how rapidly it has spread. Every day I'm afraid to wake up and look in the mirror as it seems to be getting worse

Hey I posted about taking turmeric 500 mg of curcumin, it really did slow the process of the rash down and made spots fade.
I just got on humira in January and it took about 3-4 weeks and the rash has completely disappeared. Talk to your dermatologist about getting on it.
Good luck!

Hi as Teeg 93 has said you really need to talk to a dermatologist to try other treatments. I've been on Methotrexate & folic acid for 3 years and have regular blood tests and i'm 90% clear and I use dovobet gel on areas that do appear. I also use zerodouble moisturiser daily which I get on prescription. It took about 8 weeks before I noticed any improvement, So worth it!!

Hi all. I'd had psoriasis since I was 18(Now 43). First started when I joined the army and got progressively worse. By the time I was in my mid 20s I was covered in 1/2p size patches over my entire body. I hated it but got used to it. Then in my early 30s and without doing anything in particular it just disappeared??? I was chuffed to bits. I had 10 years without it then over Christmas 2017 I had a shocker of a chest/throat/sinus infection which had me feeling crap for about a month. Anyhoo it's caused a massive outbreak of guttate psoriasis all over my arms and legs. I couldn't cackin believe it😯 im kinda alright with having it but obvs want to get some form of treatment going. the big downside for me is the work involved in treating it(I'm a very lazy sufferer) but feeling super chapped so thought id see whats creams folk are recommending.my biggest hang up is I can't believe you can have an outbreak as bad as this because of a bloody throat infection😣 all recommendations greatly Received. Cheers Rob
