Hi guys I’m new to this site, I’m 19 years old and have been dealing with psoriosis of the scalp for 4/5 years now and have psoriosis nowhere else on my body apart from scalp and ears. Over the years my GP prescribed me various gel ointments which never worked also T gel shampoo which did nothing for my scalp. For the last 2 years I’ve been prescribed betnovate scalp application (sometimes dermovate) and it normally works really well and clears up my psoriosis to the point where there’s no trace, however in the last week or so my scalp has become very flaky and the flakes seem to be never ending. Shampoo wise I use Treseme keratin smooth which seems to be fine also I found Garnier ultimate blends (orange one) calms my scalp down however the yellow one flares it up again.
I was wondering if any of you could give me any advice on how to deal with all the flakes.
Thank you - Leah

Hi Leah, I have just joined today. Firstly you have to find a good dermatologist gps are just general practitioners who sit behind a desk and have no idea on psoriasis. Further to this make sure the dermatologist is part of the British association of dermatology as they specialise in Psoriasis rather then just studied it. I went private and he is amazing for your scalp ask to be prescribed either sebco or cocois they are both similar. Apply these for two weeks over night and wash in the morning. It should clear I have clear scalp for 5 years on recommendation of my private dermo and only recently it’s come but but it’s very much under control. Hope it helps thanks
