Dear Sir
I have been a long time sufferer of Psoriasis.
I visit a NHS dermatology specialist who prescribes different medications.
The specialist has prescribed both Dovonex & Dovobet in the past, I am currently applying Dovobet Gel.
I visited my GP to have Dovobet Gel added to my regular list, to replace the Dovonex Ointment already there, I have a letter from the specialist advising the need for Dovobet Gel.
My GP insisted they are both the same and Dovonex would have the same effect.
Who is correct, my GP or my Specialist.
John

Dovobet and dovonex have Calcipotriol. Dovobet has a steroid in it. I was advised to use it as the steroid can stop the itching that Calcipotriol can sometimes cause.
