Hi everyone, was just wondering if anyone has tried the cream “ child farm “ that everyone is raving about at the moment. I couldnt find it anywhere at first but then I found it in superdrug but it was the cream that had a grapefruit & tea tree oil scent, it actually made my paoriasis worse! Typical. But then I found the child farm “ slight fraganced “ but yet again after a week I have came out in a rash & also my psoriasis patches are really red & sore! I was just wondering if anyone has tried it and thinks I should give it more time to work, also does anyone have any tips for dry hair lines? My scalp psoriasis is worse than my skin & was looking to see if anyones got any ideas on shampoos & even good moisturisers? Thanks :) x

I've been using it. It's a good moisturiser - no more, no less.

Do you feel like it has helped your psoriasis?

It's helped in terms of keeping the psoriasis moisturisered, better than some moisturisers I've been prescribed but it hasn't done anything in the way of clearing the psoriasis up, no.

Iv tried the child’s farm, not as good as some moisturisers Iv used, tbh Iv tried so many and gave up, the only thing that works for me is uvb light therapy, been using a Sunbed ( carefully) and within 2-3 weeks was completely gone x

That is great news! I tried the light treatment but it was so far to travel to only be in the sunbed for seconds! Do you use them & shop sunbeds? X

I'll be honest, about 6 people sent me a link about this and I just felt like the girl who had 'discovered' it had very mild P and hadn't really been moisturising her skin. I'm so cynical these days :-/
Nevertheless, my mum bought me some and I've been using that on one leg and Aveeno on the other.
After about 3 weeks I'm seeing no difference. I think it's too thin/light, doesn't provide enough of a barrier and I have to reapply a few times to keep my skin as moisturised as the Aveeno does.
Basically, save your money and ask your GP to prescribe Aveeno. I get a 500ml bottle every month and it's amazing in general. Doesn't clear up my skin but it's a better moisturiser than anything else I've tried (and weirdly it's actually a fabulous primer if you wear foundation!).

I have never tried Aveeno, will have to try it! Out of all the creams i have ever tried ( and i have tried A LOT!! ) e45 has been the best, i wear fake tan aswell to try hide my paoriasis & its always good to put on before i apply fake tan as the tan can dry out my skin!

I spent weeks searching high and low for this cream after using steroid creams for years hoping it would end all that i read so many "amazing" reviews about it, only for it to make my psoriasis worse to the point it's even on the soles of my feet now. I wouldn't recommend it and I fully get everyone's skin reacts differently with each treatment so I'm currently using balneum bath oil betamethasone valerate steriod cream and raw coconut oil really hoping they'll work as I'm currently covered.

Ano its so frustrating that I am seeing all over facebook that child farm cream is “ curing “ psoriasis!! Do you use enstilar?

I have started using Childfarm moisturiser, has not cleared as some people claim , but has helped a lot and taken redness away , more comfortable than double base. I found with aveeno made me itch and my psoriasis worse., every case is different that's problem with psoriasis, just as you think you found something it leaps back, doctor in 1969 told me to learn to live with it, unfortunately he was right, I am persevering with Childfarm and hope it keeps psoriasis more under control.

Any article or person who claims to 'cure' psoriasis is talking out their bum. There is no cure. And quite frankly, the cost of prescriptions for long term sufferers like us is so huge to the NHS, that if there *was* a cure, you can be damned sure it would be being used!
Aveeno for the win, I just love the stuff. It leaves a great smooth base, I don't use fake tan but it keeps foundation in place and unflakey for hours when my face is acting up.

I tried the Childsfarm, it was a good moisturiser but like Metarie1985 says Aveeno all the way! doesn't sure it but does make it smoother. I am still looking for that miracle.

Aveeno was greatly reduced at ocado recently I stocked up for husband, daughters and I.
At long last people know not to buy me toiletries!

I have been using Child Farm for just about 6 weeks on persistent plaque psoriasis on my elbows and a new outbreak of Guttate psoriasis all over my body that just appeared around 4 weeks ago.
Like many others I read online that it was practically a miracle treatment. Well, it certainly is not for me. It is simply a moisturiser, and not quite as good as Doublebase at that. It does have a nice citrus smell as well. Perhaps I was expecting too much from Childs Farm after the glowing endorsements that I had read.
I also tried MooGoo - not impressed at all, and it has what I think is a quite unpleasant smell.
One of the best non-steroid treatments I have found for moisturising and calming my elbows has been Vitamin E Night Cream from BodyShop.

Gaming Empty Nester - It's on the NHS prescription list - you should be able to get it much cheaper that way (or free if you're in Scotland/on income support etc). I went through a phase of feeling slightly guilty about using the NHS for something I can get over the counter, but when I had a bad guttate flare up last year I was literally going through 500ml a week which was £40+ a month on moisturisers alone. Oooft. Now it's calmed down it lasts for ages.
Amybx - I'm only using Enstilar foam at the moment. Supposed to be every other day but I find it works better if I use it every day for 3/4 days then give myself a break for the same. The good thing is that I've been using it on/off for a year and can still see quite quick results so only really use it intensively if I know I'll want to expose more skin. Skin goes back to a normal texture but still pink and splotchy. But I'll take it. For me it's a lot more upsetting to feel rough and flakey than it is to be slightly patchwork in appearance!

I love the Child Farm moisturiser, it is by no means a miracle cure. But for me it reduces the redness and flakeyness and stops any itch almost immediately. I use twice a day straight after getting out of the shower. For plaque psoriasis on my knees and elbows and guttuate on legs, torso and arms.
I started Cyclosporine 4 days ago and I can honestly say it’s already working so well. I’m almost totally clear and am on a 5 week course of tablets. No scary side effects as of yet. It’s ok using creams and lotions but I think you should see about getting on some meds and attacking the P from the inside.
Hope this helps :)

I haven't found an once of difference with my skin since using it. Just a nice smelling moisturiser to be honest. I just keep it at work and use it when I feel my skin needs some moisture. I do like the fact that's it's not greasy at all :) I really did have high hopes for this product,
