I currently suffer with psoriasis on my scalp, ears, chest, face, elbows, arms and legs.

Hi, I use T/Gel just in the shower like normal shampoo. My psoriasis hasnt been an issue for years but first year exams has made it flare so bad!... Hoping it will do the trick!

I have had psoriasis for over 17 years now. I once was covered on more than 75% of my body, tried many treatments...and just stopped everyth

when my psoriasis is really bad, I am putting some olive oil on my scalp like a mask that I keep on all day - you have to be sure that you won't have to go out though! ;) And then I wash it off with T/Gel and mostly the coldest water I can take as hot water makes it worse.

Hello! I have used everything you can imagine to try and treat my psoriasis on my scalp, having had it all my life. As PrisK mentioned below, putting some normal oil on it, I like to use Almond oil, will really help soften the skin. I tend to put it on and leave it overnight, then wash it out in the morning. As ridiculous as it may seem, I have also been known to wrap my head with cling film once the oil is on, so that it doesn't rub off while I sleep and keeps all the moister in! Have you used Capasal before? It is a shampoo which you can get from your doctor. ps. If you do use oil, it may take two washes to get all the oil out!

Hi, I have found that washing your hair in cold water helps alot. I do this whenever I wash my hair and I use normal shampoo and conditioner. I havent had it on my scalp for about a year now.

I've tried soaking my hair in cider vinegar (don't know why it's sometimes called 'apple cider vinegar') for an hour or so and find it very helpful

Old fashioned and now in cheap generic formulation calcipotriol scalp solution? Quick tip - use a comb to part the hair and make sure are actually applying it to the lesions rather than just end up rubbing it in to the hair. If lesions are very scaly could be worth asking dr for something to remove the scale first and then apply the treatment. Bit of a faff but at least means are maximising the actual treatment.

Yes

Snake oil scalp bar and anti flake solid shampoo from Lush have had a major impact in the three days I have been using them. Previously used Dovebet etc but no improvement. My scalp was constantly itching and my wife could track me down by the skin trail around the house. Also the Lush staff were really helpful and not at all "my god where is your bell". Finally I do not work for Lush or am in any way affiliated to them. Will update progress/ regression. Regards and good luck Michaelswims

Since my early teens in varying degrees, mainly scalp and back

Hi Emily, I use the same as michaelswims and is a vast improvement on anything I have ever been prescribed, and I have had psiorasis for twenty years now (god saying that makes me feel old!!!) :-)

Just wondering, how the soap bar works and the cost of it to how much to get and try... I am also fed up of using capasal shampoo and what to feel normalish with normal shampoo... any suggestions would be gratefully received :) Thank you Aimie

Scalp Psoriasis and scaly in parts of body

Hi Aimee, I bought the snake bar from Lush but have not been that impressed with it, its about £3. What I have been impressed with though is another product from Lush called Hair Doctor for scalp. used it about 3 times and can feel the difference, feels like it has stopped it spreading and scalp feels smoother. Give it a try again about £3 a pot - keep it in the fridge

I have had psoriasis for the past 14 years.

Hi there, I've had psoriasis on for 14 years and have had it on my scalp for all of that time. I've tried so many different products, but nothing worked. Then 3 months ago, I was recommended the Jason Tea Tree Treatment shampoo & conditioner. Whilst it hasn't cleared my psoriasis, it has certainly stopped the flaking which is a great result. It's available in most health stores, costs about €8 (£6?) and is definitely worth trying. If you're interested, I've recently started doing a blog on all things relating to psoriasis and fashion. http://theflakyfashionista.blogspot.com

I have had psoriasis since I was 8. I have quite severe plaque psoriasis and last year have developed psioritic arthritis - a couple of mont

I use diprosalic scalp application, which is quite good at controlling the flaking and plaques. You have to get it on prescription from your GP. The positive thing about this application is it is just like water, a clear non greasy liquid, and it smells quite like vodka when it comes out of the bottle but is odourless on the scalp. It has worked quite well for me and the bonus is that it is non greasy.

I was diagnosed with cronic psoriasis on the scalp. I was given a host of steriods topical and systemic to take and nothing worked. I was it

Dear everyone that has tried everything to get rid of scalp psoriasis. I was diagnosed with it 1 year ago and it got worse and worse. Very itchy, very very flaking and making me loose my hair. I have a good diet with no smoking, alcohol and junk food so I looked into diet further. I took out EVERYTHING that was inflammatory... Dairy, refined Sugar0, Processed food and Hot sauce. I added loads of fruit, vegetables and all natural meets and eggs. I drank lots of water and took my multi vitamins and fish oil. It helped 10%!!!! Very frustrating... UNTIL I started taking GINGER capsules everyday. I have one at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It annihilated my psoriasis AND I can eat the occasional butter toast covered in hot sauce ;-) I also take cinnamon and garlic oil everyday. Along with the ginger they are all ANTI-INFLAMMATORY . It took a week before the psoriasis was gone. GOOD LUCK and PLEASE email me if you have any questions.

Scalp psoriasis on and off for about 12 years now, came back with a vengeance this year (stress?) and has been driving me mad since then

Hi I just wanted to echo the recommendation for Snake Oil by Lush - it has almost fully cleared up my scalp which has been driving me crazy for months since a really bad flare up mainly due to stress which just wouldn't shift. I tried so many lotions and potions both prescribed and natural, changed diet and nothing worked until I bought a Lush bar based on reading about it here! The first time i put it on my scalp felt almost like it breathed a big sigh of relief immediately. Since then it has not bothered me much, just a couple of small and hardly flaky patches, nothing like it was before. The Lush shop girl did tell me they were discontinuing the bars :-( so I stocked up but then another shop told me they weren't stopping them so who knows... Thanks for the tip re snake oil guys!

I have had psoriasis since 1965, my mother has it, and my son has it. I have been hospitalised with it twice. However, I don't make it a p

Like many others I also had a 'panic attack' when Polytar became impossible to find locally. I began to use what Polytar I had left, very sparingly!!! Luckily my scalp is not too bad, presently, and E45 SHAMPOO is doing a great job.
