Mometasone and silkis

Hi, I've had P for 14 years, am now 43, just been for my very first dermatology appointment today and have been given mometasone cream and silkis ointment, has anyone had any experience with these particular treatments, I can't seem to find much info/reviews on them. I was hoping to be offered light treatment but the doc said no as I have the P in the folds of my skin now as well, mainly groin and under boobs. He said if these treatments didn't work I will be offered medication in tablet form? I have also been referred to see if I have arthritis as my fingers get swollen to the point I can't wear my wedding band, gutted. He just told me to take ibuprofen to help swelling.
