I am only guessing, but I suspect that many doctors might advise "don't shave your armpits" as an easy and immediate solution - which while correct advice, is not particularly helpful.
I am a man and I wax or shave my armpits (I am very hairy and I find I feel less sweaty and get less odour if I do so).
When I have a psoriasis outbreak I instead trim the hair very short with an electric stubble trimmer (sold for men). It does not break the skin or irritate it, but keeps the hair very short, approx 0.5 - 1mm.
It might be a solution worth considering for yourself.
