is there a link between psoriatic arthritis and gluten intolerance?

I would not take the 25% figure for psoriasis sufferers with gluten intolerance as statistically confirmed with large studies.
The fact that 25% has been quoted for teo different things is very likely to be simply a coincidence.

I have recently cut out gluten from my diet. I have done so in the past and found immediate relief of IBS symptoms but slowly drifted back to biscuits etc! Having read various suggestions about the link between psoriasis and gluten, I’ve decided to give it another go. I am also cutting out lactase.

My daughter inherited an autoimmune disorder from her mother and suffered terribly with psoriasis. My partner and I had a trumendous struggle during the early stage of her life. In despair with nothing left to try we removed every possible allergen from her diet.
To begin with, this was quite a challenge especially when the results are not apparent straight away, but week by week we saw very small improvements, and by week 6 her skin was completely clear.
Allergens list:
Cereals containing gluten, namely: wheat (such as spelt and khorasan wheat), rye, barley, oats
Crustaceans for example prawns, crabs, lobster, crayfish
Eggs
Fish
Peanuts
Soybeans
Milk (including lactose)
Nuts; namely almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecan nuts, Brazil nuts, pistachio nuts, macadamia (or Queensland) nuts
Celery (including celeriac)
Mustard
Sesame
Sulphur dioxide/sulphites
Lupin, which includes lupin seeds and flour and can be found in types of bread, pastries and pasta
Molluscs like, mussels, whelks, oysters, snails and squid

I had psoriasis as a young girl and I was quit embarrassed but it was gone by 5th grade .Now I'm about to turn 60 yrs old and its back right behind my ears weeping and whats even more annoying is it came with severe pain in my hands and feet and basically all my joints . I've had so many tests done in the past 7 years and never get anywhere I could use some advice I've had enough of tests. The only thing I've been told was about 5 yrs ago my Dr said I had too many abnormalities in my nervous system then he retired before the verdict was in right after that here comes the psoriasis back any info would be appreciated. Thanks Jill
