Hi sorry if this has been covered already , I took methotrexate for the first time yesterday after a couple of weeks really struggling walking.
Doing pretty well with any side effects just feeling abit wiped out.
Only major thing is my feet today are the worst they have every been , I can’t put any weight on them at all. Is this common for the pain to be worse or just a coincidence?
Cheers

Methotrexate is a .blocker. It is supposed to work in your brain to block the messages that your brain is incorrectly sending to your body, The brain sends the messages, then the body produces Sinovial fluid in the joints. This fluid makes the joints hot and sore and swollen.. it can take up to 3 months for the methotrexate to start working.. I had a terrible time with my feet at the beginning. I felt like I was walking on a very uneven pebbly beach all the time. It doesn’t happen much these days, so it will get better!
Take your Methotrexate when you wake up. With lots of water to wash it down. Stay up and move around, , so it doesn’t lie in your tummy. . I was nervous at first but you get used to it, Good luck
