I have a critical illness cover policy. There is a specific list of conditions and illnesses that are covered. One of these is rheumatoid arthritis. I am wondering if a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis would be accepted as an equivalent condition if I made a claim on the policy.

You would have to ask the insurance company, but my largely uneducated guess is that unless the policy specifically mentioned it, they would not cover psoriatic arthritis.
One of the issues might be that there is not yet a specific blood test, or other test, accepted to give a unique or definitive diagnosis of PSA (as far as I know).

I fear that you might be right, but I thought I would ask, in case anyone else has had experience of this type of thing.

I'd imagine if it's a specific list of conditions and illnesses, and PsA wasn't on it I wouldn't be holding to much hope for it. Though you never know till you ask ;).
