Hello,
Just as a bit of back ground... I'm 27 years old and a teacher. My P got worse after having my children and I got to a stage where both my legs, knee to foot, was completely covered (like one massive sheet wrapped around me) with none of my "normal skin" visible. The top side of my arms were also the same.
Luckily from a combination of using dovobet consistently, wrapping myself in cling film every night and having quit smoking, I have no scales or dryness or itching anymore.
Unfortunately, I am now left with bright red skin which doesn't want to shift ☹. Is there anything which could help me with this or is this just a phase your skin goes through before it recovers?
I've never been in the position before, where I've had improvement on a large scale, so I'm just not sure. I'm just sick of covering up everyday to hide my arms and legs, especially when the nicer weather comes.
Please someone tell me this will go away and I'm heading in the right direction....

My shins on both my legs were all covered back in 2018, the dermatologist put me on Methotrexate.
This cleared my P up, but I decided to cut dairy out of my diet and stopped eating all bad foods. Yours seems more severe but just try implementing lifestyle changes if you haven't already.
My P has flared back up again starting in Jan this year, due to Covid-19 I'm unable to get an appointment for a dermatologist to be put back on Methotrexate, so I'm going back on to my the diet which cleared me up before.
Cutting out dairy ( I have two boiled eggs a day without the yolk)
Cutting red meats out
Eating more high omega 3 fish
Cutting out night shade veggies
Eating any kind of berries everyday
Eating more chicken
This sounds silly but before I'd spend about an hour a night listening to rain sounds to chill me out, due to the nature of my old job I was stressed 24/7.
Keep calm and don't worry, all beautiful people have Psoriasis.

Thank you so much for the reply!
I was doing okay and then I went on a trip to Iceland and the cold weather just made it completely awful. I'm avoiding nightshades and gluten as I'm intolerant, maybe I should cut down on the red meat.
I've been looking into guided meditation as well, so maybe I will try that too.
Feel like I hit a brick wall whenever I go and see The GP, they fob me off constantly. Once this is all over I will push to see a dermatologist.
It's more just the colour of the skin where the area was. I think it might be hyperpigmentation - hopefully it will clear up soon :)

I have never really seen doctors about psoriasis before, I only started going when my joints started hurting that's when my GP did the referral.
The redness is the hardest part to get rid of, but plenty of sun will help. My legs look like they have a constant tan now, it's better than being red though!
But I think diet is the biggest cure, try eating anti-inflammatory foods to, lean red meat would be fine just cut out the processed stuff.
Good luck with trying to get a referral now, just don't stress 🙂

Heyy Roo92
I was wondering how the redness is going?
I’m 27 and have had psoriasis for 20 years now.
I’m currently getting injections for my psoriasis which seems to be the only thing keeping on top of it in all these years, but I use dovabet religiously to keep on top of any flare ups to lead some sort of ‘normal’ short sleeved life.
I too wrap myself in clingfilm at night as its the only way to give it time to soak in etc.
I use it on my face as sparingly as possible but my cheeks are now red as hell and have been for as long as i can remember. I’m told it’s because dovabet thins the skin so with my face being more sensitive than the rest of my body its just thin and sensitive now.
Hoping your going to tell me your redness has went away? :(
Or if you’ve found anything else that works for you as it seems we have similar reactions

I've had mine for 20 years as Well so I know how you feel.
I'm struggling recently in this weather wrapping. I haven't had a good night's sleep all week.
I had it on my face too, mainly around the top of my forehead and eyebrows and nose. I've recently changed my skin care regime and its done wonders!
My friend had set up a body shop business and being polite I entered a raffle, just to support, and I won 50 quid spending. I ordered a hemp moisturiser and my arms have cleared by about 50% in the last week and a half.
For my face I have been using a body shop liquid skin peel once a week along with a vitamin E toner and moisturiser. But by far the best thing I use is a nip and fab exfoliatior followed by a dead sea mud mask by essence of arcadia (once or twice a week) The skin on my face is completely clear now!
No redness or itching, just completely normal skin. The only time I've had to use dovobet on my face was after a bad flare up - which I've noticed is mainly after drinking gin.
I experimented with childs farm on my legs, but I think it's made it worse. So I'm going to stick with hemp moisturiser and zero base twice a day and hoping for more clear up. I do think being out in the sun recently has helped a lot too.
It sounds like we are very similar with everything going on, so if you find anything that works, let me know too! X

Hi, are you able to let me know what make the moisturisers you used. The hemp and skin peeler on your face. I found cutting out certain foods helped. Mainly spots on my legs, not itching tho but when I first had it I was very low in mood, changed everything I wore and now I live with it but will always try other things that work for people. I do bathe in dead seal salt which helps.

They were all from "the body shop". It was the hemp heavy duty moisturiser and the skin peel was called "drops of youth liquid skin peel" - but they do different types (vitamin C or a drops of light).
I bathe in dead sea salts too... I forgot that bit!
I also forgot to say that I have been doing a keto diet for the last 5 week. I've eliminated almost all carbs. Not sure whether that's making a difference too. I had a test done and know I am gluten intolerant, so it fit in well for me.
So many variables!

Hello 😊
Thank you for sharing, I have had psoriasis since last year I no idea why it flared up, it is in my family so maybe it’s genetic, and I was feeling a bit stressed at the time.
It was horrendous on my legs and arms and really bad on my scalp has now started on my face round my nose and chin ☹️
I read a past post and have been eating blueberries everyday for about 3 months and I would say it’s 80% better. Definitely worth a try!
As for my face it’s so red round my nose and chin, I have been using Dovobet but I think the Dovobet is strong so now it’s just red and my skin is peeling ☹️ Would you recommend the body shop moisturiser ? Any help would be appreciated 😊

Hello!
Yes I definitely would! I was using a cannabis face moisturiser before which was good, but definitely think the body shop range is better and has improved my skin In the quickest time.
I would recommend the vitamin E range - cleanser, toner and moisturiser. The moisturiser I use is the gel ( a little goes a really long way). I use the moisturiser in the morning and then cleanse tone and moisture every night.
My skin peels with dovobet too 😑 I would highly recommend their skin peel as well or the nip fab exfoliatior from once a week, along with a good face mask (I think I mentioned one above) just to remove any excess dry skin.
I hope this helps 😊
Ps I will try the blueberries!

Aww thank you 😊
I will order today, anything is worth a try!
It is so bad having it on your face I have a tone of foundation on everyday which properly doesn’t help! But it’s to bad to go around bare face ☹️
I was due to go to the dermatologist but got cancelled, good luck with the blueberries I’m convinced they have helped! Xx

How many blueberries have you been having? Do you see a spike in sugar levels?

I have had the small pound box from Tesco everyday for the last 3 months and my arms are completely clear, my legs are almost clear and my scalp is so much better too.
I have unfortunately developed P. On my face but hoping body shop moisturiser will help.
I had lots of bloods taken by my GP to see if there was something underline causing all my skin problems but all was clear so I assume my blood sugar is fine.

I stopped blueberries because my blood sugars were to high but thinking now I was adding other fruit haha.
I may just go back to only blueberries because I was doing the as you are , but wasn't sure how many I should be eating.
