I am creating this new topic as it has been discussed on a different forum recently but is a bit off topic so thought I'd give the question it's own forum.
My psoriasis doesn't seem to behave like many others.
For example, many say that heat and sunlight have a positive effect, mine always gets worse in the summer months.
I read a post from a lady who puts her feet in cold water and it seems to soothe the itch, I myself find that running my hands and elbows (these are the worst patches) under the cold tap, has a cooling effect and seems to calm the skin.
Has anyone else tried this, or has this been discussed before and I am late to the party?
I've had psoriasis for around 6 years but have only just discovered this site.

Hi Tinytasia
My PPP (Feet) is worse in the summer months but also if I get too hot then it starts to itch too! Which is why 'sometimes' walking hurts :( If I walk in the summer my feet get hot and then they start to itch skin goes bright red and pustules appear - grim grim grim :( Feet in cold water then really helps.
Hi both - I'm really glad you raised this, as my psoriasis patches (mostly on lower legs and knees) gets worse in the summer, too. Sunlight doesn't seem to help, and the heat makes me really itchy - especially in the evenings.
I get very hot feet at night, and I've recently set up a fan that I can position on to my feet and it helps. Getting up and putting them in a sink of cold water (one leg at a time!) helps, too.
Have you found Dead Sea Salts helpful? I'm trying them in a bath a few times a week, but unfortunately no visible difference yet...

Hello all
It's good to know I'm not alone in this
I haven't tried dead see salt but last year I swam in the sea one warm day and I found this helped temporarily. Not had the opportunity this year with covid and all.
I always feel itchy at night too, sometimes I wake myself up scratching but by then it's too late, I've already made myself bleed.

I have tried the dead sea salt - I did see a slight improvement so I am sticking with it - it can't do any harm - anything that makes it feel better to me is good - Good Luck @bargainlovingmum :)
Scratching always makes it worse for me too :( So I try really hard not to scratch but sometimes??? You just have to go for it :( Lol
