Treatment access and remission

Hi all. I'm feeling really frustrated and in a quandary what to do. I am finally in the last stage of getting approval for a MAB biologic. I have been waiting for over 2 years and my psoriasis has been awful and really impacted on my life. Because of this whilst waiting, alongside my normal treatment regime, I have made huge improvements in overhauling my lifestyle. This has caused my psoriasis to stay more or less the same - some areas have gotten less flaky but it has NOT got better or into remission, nor has it gotten worse. I am frustrated because as my appointment approaches, my dermatologist advised that the final decision will be made based on my skin at that time, so my severity level may have changed slightly. If its is not deemed severe enough, I will have to continue my old treatments (which were absolutely not working) until it gets to a more severe level and I can be re-referred. I am really worried about this and frustrated.....do I revert back to my old lifestyle? I feel like this is self sabotage. I am so desperate to start this treatment - my flare ups make me have to take time off work, affect my relationships, activity and social life as well as my mental health. Any advice or thoughts would be welcome. Thank you in advance

A P sufferer for over 30 years, through good and bad times.

I appreciate it is a difficult time at present trying to get appointments and see or talk to a Derm specialist. If you are in the UK and it is your Pasi test then if I remember correctly you have to score the questions on the impact on various things I.e lifestyle, fitness regime, clothing, work, relationships, sex etc etc. Try to score higher even if you don't think there is any major impact. There is a magic number to qualify for the biologics although I think it is getting easier to qualify if you have used and failed on other meds. Good luck
