Hello, everyone. First-time poster.
Great website and forum.
Had a good search on here for SKYRIZI (risankizumab) (IL=23 inhibitor), but couldn't find much so far. Which surprises me, to be honest.
Results, from US FDA trials, in 2020, look quite spectacular. Around ~90% of patients get 90% psoriasis clearance (PASI 90), and ~60% get 100% clearance (PASI 100), over ~3 months to ~3 years. Near-complete clearance for most, sustained over a long(ish) time, seemingly little or no "rebound", with surprisingly few major or minor side-effects. You can view the official results and methodology on Skyrizi's public website.
Have used UVB photo-therapy, a couple years ago, which gives full 100% clearance, but it never lasts. Within 1-3 months, the red spots return, sometimes worse than before, and it's back to square one.
Anyway, some questions:
1. Is anyone using SKYRIZI today or in the past?
2. Does it work for you (or not)?
3. Were there many, or any, blood tests before commencement?
4. Any pain from the injection site or elsewhere (e.g. stomach)?
5. Any tiredness or lethargy or fatigue or mental issues after treatment?
6. Any virus or Covid vaccine worries in the current pandemic?
7. Anything else to keep in mind?
Short version -- SKYRIZI looks (arguably) close to a panacea for moderate to severe psoriasis... results are impressive... it has been available since 2017 in one or more countries... but very few psoriasis patients are posting on UK, US or other forums about it... which is "odd"... what am I missing?... what's the catch?
Mods -- this is a first post. Feel free to edit if it crosses any forum rules.
Thanks, everyone.
there are probably not many people with experience of SKYRIZI as it was only passed by the UK government for use last year and the majority of Doctors will not prescribe it as expensive to our Health service

Good point... A quick Google suggests Skyrizi may cost £5-15k per single injection in 2020, requiring 4-5 injections per year for life... Could cost the NHS perhaps £20-75k per patient per year... A 20yo adult, who might live to 90yo, could have a lifetime cost in the millions.
