Exorex on prescription

Are people getting exorex 5% coal tar on prescription? My partner's psoriasis has progressively got worse and he has used exorex successfully in the past. He got one prescription of exorex two weeks ago from our surgery and has just been told he must now purchase it over the counter. Would be good to know if this is a uk wide rule or just our surgery.

I had to purchase mine 3 years ago.
I doubt if it is a UK wide rule as some lists of what is allowed to be prescribed vary from one health board to another.
