Hi, had my first consultation with an NHS dermotologist two weeks ago after explosion of P a few months ago. Up until then just a few patches on elbows etc. for many years. The consultation was a real eye opener. Been prescribed steroid ointments, Dovobet mainly, regularly for 20+ years - oops. Not good. Four weeks max then gradually wean off was the advice. Anyhow, on the waiting list for UVB treatment and in the meantime smothering myself with dermotologist prescribed Adex Gel emollient twice a day.
Now itching like mad, especially back, chest and scalp (using prescribed Capasal shampoo). Tried taking anti-hestamine which possibly helps but if anyone can come up with better ways to stop the itching it would be a relief - in more ways than one!! Thanks.
