Posted Sun 24 May 2015 03.40 by NightLife I got Psoriasis this year. It spread from my scalp to behind my ears, to my face, to my hands, to my legs, to my chest, to my back.
Hey,
So I have Psoriasis, I'm 15 years old. I'm a teenager boy and I want to share how I treat it and my story.
So around Feb, March 2015 (Posting this 24/05/15) I got really bad dandruff on my head. It was itchy, I scratched it, etc. Then my skin behind my ears became red, itchy, very painful, etc. I went to my GP but she wasn't there so I got a random doctor
(I think she was pregnant or something).
So I went to some other doctor and she told me that the stuff behind my ears was caused by air not being able to reach behind my ears and gave me an antibiotic (ibuprofen) and some kind of cream/gel which I don't remember what it was called. I told her about the dandruff and she gave me some kind of shampoo which was total garbage. It actually increased the amount of dandruff I have. She didn't even suggest that I have Psoriasis or anything about it.
Some time passed. I stopped using the shampoo because my dandruff was becoming worse. My ears healed but only for like a week or two. Then the psoriasis came back but I didn't know that I had psoriasis.
One day I decided to google scalp conditions on google because I had red spots on my head, etc (typical of psoriasis). I found out about scalp psoriasis and read about it more. I found out that it can spread to behind your ears and the symptoms matched perfectly, 1 to 1. From that moment I knew I had psoriasis and got another doctor appointment. This time I got another random doctor. l told her straight up about psoriasis which I shouldn't of because I should of waited to see what kind of garbage she would of told me I have. Really sad that we don't have good doctors these days. She gave me Emulsifying Ointment BP and a coal tar shampoo. The coal tar shampoo didn't remove my dandruff but did help a little bit. I had to shower with this Emulsifying ointment, it was very oily, hard, not easy to spread. It didn't help me at all except that it kept my skin tomato red all the time. The coal tar shampoo was Neutrogena T/GEL Therapeutic Shampoo 250ml. It claimed to be good and wasn't very bad. It helped me slowly, very slowly. It was o'right but not effective at all. This cost the NHS about £8 and the ointment £7. In total £15.
I went to a private clinic called Dental and Medical located in Barking
(98 Longbridge Road
Barking
Essex
IG11 8SF).
I went to they're skin specialist which comes there once a month and when we called we found out that she was coming on the same week that we were calling (Lucckky!). So I went there and they charged my £80. £60 for the diagnosis and £20 for a prescription. I didn't say that I had psoriasis and they told me I had it (yay good doctor). If they told me some other kind of garbage I would have walked out from there and wouldn't pay them anything. I mean, I can go to my GP and do that, why should I have to pay to go to somewhere, where they tell me total garbage. She prescribed these following medicines:
1)Sebco, Coconut Oil Compound (For my scalp)
2)Betamethasone valerate 0.1%w/w ointment (for behind my ears)
3)Doublebase Gel (for skin, moisturizer)
4)Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel (for showering, soap)
5)Alphosyl 2 in 1 Shampoo (for showering, shampoo)
6)Dovobet gel (for skin)
This is a review of how each I use, how often and what it does.
1)Sebco,
I used Sebco however I got dandruff from it. So I stopped using it after 3-4 uses. I apply it to the scalp and leave it for an hour. Then I was my hair with warm water or with shampoo. It didn't show any special effect however I believe it did help in healing my scalp. I recommend this product! Also it says to use it 4 times I believe in the leaflet that comes with it. It costs around £16 for 100g. Don't buy 40g, buy 100g of sebco. 40g won't be enough for nothing. If you can't get access to 100g, get 2 packets of 40g making it 80 in total. 80g is just about enough!
2) Betamethasone valerate 0.1%w/w ointment,
This product is so amazing! LOVE IT! I recommend this to EVERYONE who has psoriasis behind they're ears. A must have. My psoriasis behind my ears was gone in less than 48 hours. It was so red and painful and the fact it went away in less than 48 hours is amazing. The only downside to it is that you need a prescription for this product.
3) Doublebase gel,
This product is good. It definitely helps me get my skin soft and moisturized easily. It's very easy to spread unlike the Emulsiffying Ointment

Ups clicked post your comment by accident. Here I continue.
1)Sebco,
I use sebco everyday once.
2)Betamethasone valerate 0.1%w/w ointment,
I use this every day, twice. Once in the morning and once in the evening, the same as I use the syrup which I will talk about below.
3) Doublebase gel,
This product is good. It definitely helps me get my skin soft and moisturized easily. It's very easy to spread unlike the Emulsifying Ointment. Definitely helps me. Costs about £10 for 500g compared to £7 for the other. I use it when I feel my skin is dry. As many times as I want to.
4)Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel,
Works amazing at keeping my skin soft. Works wonders at moisturizing my skin. I recommend this product. Costs about £7 for 200g of it. Really good, smells nice, I don't smell when I use it. It's really good considering it doesn't make any bubbles (it has a soap substitute). I used it when I shower which may be how many times I want.
5)Alphosyl 2 in 1 Shampoo,
Oh baby, this is also a must buy. It works wonders! Not only did it heal my psoriasis but it removed my dandruff. I have 0 dandruff what so ever! It's totally amazing! In my opinion it's a must have if you have dandruff, I also have nothing on my scalp, no red spots, nothing. The only thing that I might have is a scratch from time to time. But it's quite normal to be itchy sometimes. It costs about £7. I use it every 2 days.
6)Dovobet gel,
Now this product is the best out of all. It makes your psoriasis red spots disappear. I put it on my arms 3 times so far and they are disappearing each time I put it on. Little by little, my left arm has nothing on it as if I never had psoriasis. 2 months ago my arm was horrible. Now as if I had nothing on it. This is VERY expensive. It costs about £40-50 for 60g. It sounds a lot, I know however it lasts a very long time! I applied it to everywhere where I have psoriasis a few times and I have more than 2/3 of it there. This product makes it all happen. Combined with doublebase gel, it really helps you to heal. Dovobet gel kind of eats the skin on top and remove the psoriasis while the doublebase gel helps you heal a lot faster. Only downside, it needs a prescription like the Betamethasone valerate 0.1%w/w ointment . I apply this to my skin only. I use it every couple of days as patches of eaten skin comes to my skin and I allow it to heal before I apply the next batch of Dovobet gel. This works best for me and that's how I use it.
Now, my dad's friend has a friend who got psoriasis as a teenager and now takes vitamin B12. He takes injections of it and also it from the mouth from time to time. He has no psoriasis what so ever, he uses normal soap, etc. He only takes vitamin B12. I got a syrup which is called Vitabiotics Feroglobin B12 Gentle Liquid, (Zinc, minerals and Vitamin B complex), (Haemoglobin and red blood cells). I will supply a link for where to get it at the bottom. . I can also comment that it tastes really good, it doesn't taste very bad. It tastes like honey and orange. It's delicious. This link isn't where to get it from but is they're official website. So if your wondering how it looks like, etc.
https://www.vitabiotics.com/feroglobin/original/ . My dad bought it, don't know how much it costs but you can get 500g for about £9. I drink 2 teaspoons a day. One when I get up and another before I go to sleep or about 12 hours from the first one. I try and keep it 12 hours between each teaspoon. 200g lasts for about 16 days and 500g for about 42 days.
I recommend this website for getting all of these except sebco which can be found on amazon but consider that you'll need prescriptons for Dovobet gel and Betamethasone valerate 0.1%w/w ointment. The website is called http://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/ .
Here are links to all of the medicines.

6)Dovobet gel
7)You can also get the syrup from http://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/feroglobin-liquid-500ml-p9029.html
I found out that you can also get the same syrup but the "plus" version which also includes vitamin D which is known for helping in psoriasis. It costs £7 for 200ml which is more expensive but I think it'll be better. I haven't personally used it before but I think it'll be good. The syrup has definitely helped me and I think it is a must have. The plus version is this link http://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/feroglobin-plus-liquid-p9030.html .
I think that's pretty much it! If you have any questions then reply to this post. If it's urgent then you can message me on nightlife120@yahoo.com but please don't spam my email otherwise you will be blocked.
Thank you, I hope I have helped someone.

Update:
Ah the cream that the random doctor gave me was Fucibet cream. It's a fusidic acid/betamethasone cream. It's because of the betamethasone that my psoriasis on my ears disappeared.
Posted Tue 16 Jun 2015 01.03 by Peter S I have psoriasis on about 1/3 of my body...have had it for over 10 years and its getting worse.
"I got really bad dandruff on my head. It was itchy, I scratched it, etc."
That is what actually started my psoriasis. I scratched my head and it bled a bit...and I thought nothing of it. Then a week later I had the first patch of psoriasis there....which since spread to 1/3 of my body.
I've tried loads of treatments. Betnovate scalp application had zero effect...but Dovobet ( which I was given for body, not scalp ) actually works wonders on my scalp.
