Bad psoriasis for the first time
6 weeks ago I went to the doctor as I had bad red patches on both legs around the back after taking 4 different creams the red patches got bigger near to the size of my hand and went bright red and started blistering and burning feeling got so painful that it was painful to walk went to see the doctor again who have me dovobet cream it seems to have stopped the blisters and the burning feeling and the color has seemed to gone a bit lighter and less red but it seems to have spread upwards and still feels sore , been told to go back in 2 weeks to see how the cream helped the doctor said she thinks it's psoriasis , I suffer from eczema and hives but never had sores like this before and never anything on the bottom of both legs , it's getting me down as I can't wear skirts/shorts or go swimming :( ,

Sorry to read you're having such a bad time with your skin.
From your description it sounds as if you could do with a referral to a dermatologist. Psoriasis can blister but that usually occurs on the soles of feet and palms of hands. Pustular psoriasis can appear elsewhere on the body but is not common. It can also spread very quickly and, if it is that, really needs looking at by an expert.
It's great your doctor even thought about it being psoriasis but as there are blisters involved hospital would be the best place for it to be looked at. Also, dovobet contains a strong steroid (which is why it often works well) so do be careful when you stop using it. Only use it for as long as your gp tells you. It can help if you use it at weekends only when coming off it. If you just stop using it psoriasis can sometimes flare up badly - unfortunately and painfully found out from experience!
I know it's hard but if your skin responds well to sun please don't be so embarrassed at getting your legs out, even if in the privacy of a back garden. You're the one who has to live with it, not other people.

Ive had eczema and now I have psoriasis, I have been swimming with both conditions, I used a barrier, to stop chlorine getting tol my skin, its 50% liquid paraffin and soft white paraffin. As your gp. Dont be ashamed of your skin.
