Hey everyone I’m new to this I’ve only just signed up to this page because I’m desperate for help and advice, I’m sorry it’s gonna be a long post... I am a 32 year old single mum to a beautiful 13 year old daughter, I got diagnosed with psoriasis shortly after I had my daughter ( I had a very traumatic labour) they put it down to the traumatic labour that triggered it in me! I have just plodded on all these years thinking I have a pretty good pain tolerance tbh, sometimes if not most I have had psoriasis over 70 percent of my body, I have it very bad over my legs, feet, head and scalp my belly, back, arms, even on my face, I have had every treatment from the ointments, the tar baths, the uv lights everything! I have been in a lot of pain the past few years and since been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis,I am under a rheumatologist and I have been through all the physio and exercise stages, the problem is I have been in sooo much pain these past couple of months to the point I rang my drs surgery in tears cos I was been physically sick with the pain I have Von willebrands disease so I am unable to take anti inflammatory drugs, I work in a supermarket which is one that you do a bit of everything in, I have come home this evening after a 10 hr shift and I can barely walk I’m in so much pain, the pain is getting me down sooo much but also the fact my 13 year old daughter has to help me around the house so much I feel soo guilty on my bad days she has to help me out of bed, I think I overdid it today at work I’m pretty sure I’m gonna suffer tomorrow for it! I don’t want to lose my job but I really don’t know how to go about it, I have asked for varied work load which is what my rheumatology nurse told me but I have been standing up at a till for 10 hrs today and I’ve got home sat down and now I can barely move, I am 32 I just want to be a good mum to my daughter and not have to rely on her to help me get my shoes on sometimes! I’m sooo upset but if I quit work I think i will be worst at home not moving around as much, please help me I just need advice please xxx

I know ,the pain your suffering,I'm the same, but couldn't possibly work I wouldn't last five minutes . Could you perhaps change your job where you could sit down more,? You could ask your specialist what chance you stand of getting a disability allowance , especially if you tell him that your suffering from depression as well, and need help dressing and getting out of bed and need help from sitting to standing! I think psoriasis can be helped from starting from within, meaning diet, what you eat ,and what you should not eat, things that make it worse ,there are plenty of tips and remedies on this group that may help you as you go along, Remember you are not alone !! Bless you

Hi, I have had psoriasis for a few years now and have had every lotion , cream etc, eventually I asked to be referred to a dermatologist, after more creams etc, I was prescribed Methotrexate which I couldn't tolerate, then I was prescribed Amgevita injections which I inject every two weeks, my hands cleared up very quickly, although now have psoriasis on my legs, thighs abdomen and backside, but no pain or itching. Maybe you could ask for this treatment, I also use Boots Derma care to ease the dry skin, which I buy, and Zeroveen prescribed by my doctor. Hope you get some help soon for you and your daughter. .

Jeni123 : If you look to the bottom of this page, in the purple area, you can see below the sub-heading "Get in Touch", the contact details for the Psoriasis Association. If you contact them directly, they can talk you through things. I expect they do not give detailed medical advice, but they can tell you a lot about what to expect, or options etc. They often post here in the comments asking people who seem to be at a loss regarding what to do, to contact them. Good luck!
