Cosentyx or Taltz for hand psoriasis, which to try first?
Posted Mon 14 Feb 2022 04.04 by Samuzza
My doctor has mentioned these two medicines. I have hand psoriasis and mild PsA.
How do I decide which to try first?
I’ve read somewhere that Taltz has less side effects.
Cheers.

Cosentyx did not work for me. Taltz was amazing and the only thing that has cleared my skin. However, the Taltz injection is by far the most painful injection I have had. It has an unpleasant burning sensation as it goes in. Like most, I had alarming injection site reactions with the first few doses. But it's worth the pain for me. The Cosentyx pens are painless.

Thanks for your reply Itchy.
Started on Taltz one week ago. My hands feel like normal hands for the first time in 6 months. No painful cracking or painful joints. Not bright red skin or crazy itchiness. Not on my mind every waking moment. Quite a transformation in just one week. Two more injections next week.
The injections were not too bad. Stung a bit, but not so painful. I’ve not noticed any side effects. But I am still fatigued.
Took methotrexate tables for a week while waiting for my insurance company to confirm coverage. They made me feel very nauseous for 4 days. But I’ve heard injections can avoid this side effect.
