Hi - I am new to the forum so apologies if this has previously been raised, but I hope someone can help.
I've been on Humira/Hyrimoz for nearly a decade for severe psoriasis. It has been a life-changing drug but has obviously lowered my immune system.
I was not shielding during Covid on my consultant's advice, but was sensible and as careful as possible. Unfortunately in late January I caught Covid and was ultimately very poorly, and needed a stay in hospital on oxygen, dexamethasone and other drugs/treatements etc. I am now at home recovering. (I am triple-jabbed by the way)
My dermatology consultant is now advising to stop my Hyrimoz treatment due to the immuno-suppression. So my questions are these - has anyone else been in a similar situation and managed to have a sensible in-depth conversation with a doctor or specialist on this topic? Is anyone aware of in-depth research into the use of adalimumab or other suppressive drugs in patients with/post covid? Does anyone know of any dermatologists specialising in this issue over the past two years?
I have done a lot of research myself and know that, really being honest, there has not been sufficient medical research done during this time to say conclusively what a psoriasis patient in this situation should do, in terms of continuing to take the biologic drugs while also protecting against covid. But I would appreciate any guidance or assistance anyone can provide.
Thanks so much.
MD

Have you scheduled your next jab. As your immunosupressed you get fourth(booster) three months from your third.

There are various threads on the American Psoriasis Association on this

An interesting read.
I did read somewhere, but can' find it to reference you, that whilst we were slightly more likely than others to end up in hospital when immune suppressed, we weren't any more likely to die of COVID than the general population.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I think the rest of what you say adds up to what I've read in the PSA magazines and research etc. Much appreciated. thank you.
