Hi My doctor recently prescribed methotrexate that i have to take every week. And he said i have to take it as a maintenance and its even ok to taper the dose if my psoriasis is flaring up. Anyone also experience such prescription that you have to take it as a maintenance?

Methotrexate is amazing! Doctor switched me from Azathioprine to Methotrexate to treat my psoriatic arthritis about six weeks ago. Methotrexate is controlling the pain and my skin has improved dramatically. No ill effects, nausea etc. Only drawback is weekly blood tests. I can't stress enough what an improvement there has been.

Ive been on methotrexate for 4 weeks now for psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. Apart from feeling ropy the day after I take the meds I can honestly say that this stuff has changed my life. My skin is almost clear completely, my bones don't hurt and I can use my hands normally for the first time in years.
