I was just looking for some advice I am 21 and had psoriasis for 9 years. My psoriasis isn't always really bad but when it is it's awful! My head is constantly weeping also my neck and ears. My hair is constantly matted together and it sticks to my neck and ears it smells really horrible. The doctor gives me antibiotics but that don't always work I have been given dovobet gel for my scalp along with all my other lotions and potions but it burns so much it's like someone is pouring acid over me. I am constantly washing my hair which I know don't help it. I've been using my sons baby shampoo but even that burns! I was just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to stop the weeping and what to wash my hair with. Many thanks

I have only just been diagnosed with Psoriasis today but have been suffering from it for years. I had exactly as you described, weeping scalp, running down my face and neck, sooo itchy, matted hair, burning, lack of sleep etc. I saw a different Dr the week before Christmas who said that I now had a secondary infection and prescribed me a strong course of antibiotics for 10 days and then a 10 day course of steroids. I never thought that I would want to take them but by then I had had the weepy scalp since last August and I didn't care what I took as long as I could get rid of the weeping scalp and get a good nights sleep. It certainly calmed it all down thank goodness and it was this new Dr that said that I must see a skin specialist.. I saw the skin specialist for the first time today and she has prescribed an additional daily antihistamine (I also suffer from Urticaria), I already take another stronger antihistamine at night. She has given me Dermovate for my scalp at night and ClobaDerm to use on my 'patches'. She gave me 'Psoriasis - An Overview' to read which is where I found this website. It is certainly helpful reading all the comments on the site and to realise that you are not alone. I wish you luck and I am going to try some of the other things that have been suggested on this site to see if any of them work. A big learning curve but I feel better knowing what I have to deal with now.

Sorry to read you're having such a rotten time. Is there a dermatology nurse specialist you can see attached to your dr? They have the most practical advice about what to use and how to apply it. On a non-prescription front, and it isn't cheap, E'spa has a pink hair and scalp mud. Doesn't sound appealing but have found it extremely calming for the scalp, although doesn't clear psoriasis, with added benefit of leaving hair in great condition.

My first recommendation is to switch to an unscented natural shampoo and soap that does not contain dyes, paraben- preservatives or perfumes. Take 15-30mgs of Zinc a day. Shampoo: Aubrey Organics White Camillia, won't strip the skin then apply Avocado Oil to scalp and ears, pat on. Use Dr. Bronner baby unscented soap all over. At health food stores. Find out what you are allergic to, it is affecting the skin. No alcohol, will cause weeping, did for me.

Part 2 of my reply. A wise friend who is a Naturopath told me to use the Aubrey shampoo and Dr. Bronner soap. Traditional bath products contain acids, ammonia and alcohols which irritate psoriasis. Even perscriptions. Since I started using these products, over 4 years ago, my psoriasis is under control. Hope this helps.

In ears and scalp

I use NeriumAd for my ears and scalp. My grandpa uses it for his which is all over his body. The stuff is amazing and natural. I have tried all the chemicals from the doctors and they dont cut it. NeriumAd helps not only with the itching but also makes the flakiness go away. While there are numerous other benefits this is the one I am most concerned with. You must try it there are many before and after photos on the net. The stuff is wondeful for psoriasis

hi i recently changed my diet realising that the cure must come from the inside,so i avoid anything with wheat in it you have to be careful because wheat is in nearly everything i also gave up cows milk and use almond milk it tastes realy nice and keeps for longer i believe cows milk is for cows and if you check it out on youtube you will give it up too.i purchased a nutri bullet and have a smoothie every day i have banana,carrot,frozen fruits and spinach green vegtables are very good for the skin you can buy them from tesco or any other supermarket and i do not drink tap water i think that flouride is poison i have to wash in it bit if i had a choice i wouldnt so now i will explain the changes since the diet first i am 62 i have psoriasis or should i say had because it is definately fading and i think will eventualy go altogether im also about 17 stone and this diet has a nice side afect it also helps to loose weight because most foods that contain wheat are fattening i also have C.O.P.D and if i can bring my weight down that will help my breathing i hope you give it a try you have nothing to lose let me know how your doing god bless dougie

Foderma serum eliminated psoriasis on my neck! I have tried creams, lotions, remedies and suggestions from my doctor. I was expecting it to take much longer to see results, but within 2 weeks, the psoriasis is 98% gone - I have to look very close to see any remnant of it.

Hi Jasmine 2691, Just read your post about weeping psoriasis behind your ears, I know it's from 2012 but I was wondering if you managed to find something that helped? I'm suffering with the exact same problem and am at the end of my tether. It's driving me mad...

Hi. I've had psoriasis for over 20 years and the scalp is one of the hardest to treat. Suffering anything from really bad burning itch to really painful stinging and weeping..... I use capasal shampoo, it's coal tar based but not too much. I also have just started SEBCO.....this is a coal tar based ointment. I've found this great, very soothing and easy to apply as it has an applicator. Leave it on at night and wash off in the morning. It hasn't cleared but I haven't had any stinging or itch since using it. And also not so much flakiness either. Both are prescription only but maybe you could ask you're gp or dermatologist

You can biuy Sebco and Cocois (which is very similar, if not identical) from Amazon UK. Mind you, they are not cheap, but they are available. You are certainly better asking your GP to prescribe for you.

I also have psoriasis that affects the scalp, behind the ear, nostrils and genital area. I dont know what to do anymore; doctor constantly perscribe antibotics which isnt good for you. How do you stop it from weeping and clear it up?

I suggested this in the other forum I could not get rid of mine it was embarrassing painful and messy. I went to the tanning bed it cleared it completely I still go at least once a week so it will not return. And u get a nice tan to

Unfortunately, with having lupus as well the doctor doesn’t recommend light therapy. So the weeping happened again this month and I started antibiotics again. This time the dermatologist said it looked like eczema.

I use phytoApaisant shampoo- herbal no detergents and it really helps, as soon as I stop using it my scalp starts to feel itchy, it's expensive but worth it
