20 months

i have had p on my feet and hands for 20 months and in desperation recently went gluten free [my daughter is clinically diagnosed ceoliacs]. Within 24 hours my hands were so much better, but after 7 days i fell off the wagon and gauged on gluten - next day p was soooo bad and also felt very ill. So am back on the gluten free which is a pain but am scared to eat gluten now. but am i kidding myself? still get bad days with my hands, especially after lots of housework, even though i wear rubber or gardening gloves religiously. Any one else tried this diet?

severely affected since May 2008 - currently trying to control using Humira injections

if it works for you..... as we are all different and what works for one doesn't always work for others...... perservere !!! When you struggle, think about how bad your skin has been and how it would revert if you give up..... and stick to it !!! I don't know what evidence there is for / against it, but if it works, keep going. As for housework, yup I get the same..... gloves seem to make it worse still.... the answer?!?! ...... no housework !!! :-) if you can afford it, get a cleaner..... or rope in your partner !!!! If the person truely loves you, then he/she will gladly help to reduce your symptoms. After all, when you're bad, it affects everyone around you, not just you..... Hope that helps

Palmoplantar

Gday guys, I have bad palmoplantar psoriasis on my hands and feet but particularly on my feet. Have been on Acitretin since March 23, started on 25mg and took it up to 35mg a day in June. I have just stopped taking them as I want to try a natural alternative. Just wondering if anyone has read a book called ‘THE PSORIASIS STRATEGY’ written by Jullissa Clay and done her 4 week program? I’ve also changed my diet to no gluten, no dairy and no processed sugars to see if that helps and will be doing a 3 day juice fast to help reset the gut as that could be connected to my constant flare ups. Will let you know how I go or if anything works. Cheers, Jesse

From Lichen Planus to Plaque Psoriasis to Palmoplantar and Nail psoriasis - newly diagnosed 2023

Gluten is inflammatory and interacts with some of the same interleukins involved in psoriasis. A coeliac screen was part of the diagnosis bloods my NHS consultant did as there can be a link between gluten allergy/intolerance and many autoimmune disorders, including psoriasis. My partner has been GF for about a decade and we're a GF/very low gluten household as a result. Have to say it's so much easier now than it was to be GF when we started. Loads of choice out there, there are even really good GF beers now. All the staple foods are easy enough to substitute and most takeaways/restaurants cater well these days. Probably the only thing I really miss is a decent doughy naan bread. Oh and my mum's streamed syrup sponge.
