Covid-19 Psoriasis Association Statement
An update on our helpline availability and other key services.
Updated: 17th March 2020
Following last night’s Government announcement, The Psoriasis Association remains deeply concerned about the current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak across the world.
During these unprecedented times, we are doing all we can to minimise the impact and disruption on those who need our help. While we will do our best to continue supporting all those affected by psoriasis as well as our staff, our trustees and our supporters, we do anticipate that the current situation will inevitably have an impact on us both operationally and financially.
We are currently following and responding to all the guidance provided to us from the UK Government, Public Health England and the NHS. At the moment, our helpline will remain open as normal and our email and WhatsApp services are still available to provide help, advice and support to those that need it. Up-to-date advice and information can be found via our website www.psoriasis-association.org.uk and our forums can provide peer to peer support as necessary.
All of our social media platforms will continue to be updated regularly as more information becomes available. We are currently experiencing a high-demand for our services, so do ask that you please bear with us as we try to respond to all enquiries and requests for help as soon as we can.
It is with regret that we have also decided to postpone our Annual Conference and AGM that were due to take place on Saturday 2nd May. We are very disappointed that this event is unable to go ahead on this date as planned but feel this is the right decision at the current time. Both events will now be rescheduled for later in the year and members will be advised of the new date accordingly.
As a charity we do rely almost entirely on the donations and generosity of individuals including those who fundraise through sporting and mass participation events. The cancellation and postponement of high-profile events such as the London Marathon will take its toll and will invariably result in a loss of income for us as a charity. In the uncertain months ahead, we ask that all of our community continue to support us in whatever way is possible.
We would like to thank all of our members and followers for their support during this difficult time as well as our staff who are working incredibly hard to ensure we can continue to provide help and support to all those affected by psoriasis.
Please note that this information is correct as of 17th March 2020. For up to date information, or if you think you may have the symptoms of COVID-19, please follow the latest NHS advice.
