Westminster Hall debate on skin conditions and mental health
We need your help to ensure that the concerns of people living with psoriasis are heard in this debate.
On Tuesday 25th January 2022 (4.30pm - 5.30pm), MPs will meet in Parliament to debate the mental health impact of conditions which affect the skin, including psoriasis. This is a unique opportunity to raise awareness of the problems experienced by people living with psoriasis, including the psychological impact of the condition which, for many, has been exacerbated by delays in getting a referral to a specialist and long waiting times for specialist care.
These issues were highlighted in a recent report published by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Skin (APPGS), and have since been further compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are grateful to Sir Edward Leigh, Chair of the APPGS, for securing this Westminster Hall debate.
What can I do to help?
To ensure that the interests and concerns of people living with psoriasis are heard in Parliament, we are asking you to email your MP ahead of this event, let them know that the debate is taking place, tell them about the impact that psoriasis has on your life, and encourage them to attend.
We have written a template email which you can personalise and send to your MP. This can be downloaded here. If you’re not sure who your MP is, you can find out (and find their email address) here.
How can I watch the debate?
You can watch the debate live online here between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday 25th January 2022.
