Autumn-Winter 2024/25 Flu and COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

Plans for the upcoming Autumn-Winter 2024/25 flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign are now in place. Getting the winter flu vaccine and/or COVID-19 vaccine or booster, is important because it can help prevent serious illness, hospitalisation, and keep you well protected during the winter.

When Does the Campaign Start?

For pregnant women and children, the flu vaccination program began on Sunday 1st September 2024. The main flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign for the general public will begin on Thursday, 3rd October 2024.

When Can I Book?

You can book appointments through the National Booking Service (NBS).

Vaccination sites will be able to post available flu and COVID-19 appointments starting Monday, 16th September 2024, with bookings open to the public from Monday, 23rd September 2024. The last date for appointments is Friday, 20th December 2024.

Who Is Eligible?

From 1st September 2024, the following groups are eligible for the flu vaccine:

What If I Am Immunosuppressed?

If you are immunosuppressed, you may also be eligible for the vaccine, especially if you're on long-term immunosuppressive treatments, systemics or biologics. People with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis (PsA) may fall into this group, depending on their treatment.

How to Book

If it has been at least 6 months since your last dose, you will be eligible for the autumn COVID-19 vaccination. NHS England will be sharing details on how eligible individuals can book their appointments.
