Irascible septuagenarian fed up with the psoriasis constantly at me

I have tried most washing products out there and I found there to be very little between then all, so now I buy own brand value boxes of powder and add to the clothes to be washed in layers rather than dump it all into the dispenser drawer. I got that tip from a machine service engineer and it definitely does dissolve quicker. I do not use any fabric conditioner, but I do run the washer through two complete rinse cycles and then I use the tumble dryer rather that hang everything out on the line when the weather is good enough. With my skin, I found two complete rinse cycles to be essential, thus making sure most of the detergent residues have been removed. Yes, it does add to my metered water bill, but I think that is a price worth paying.
