Psoriatic and osteo arthritis - can you have both?

Got psoriasis when I was 18, psoriatic arthritis in my late 20's. Both have been in remission for about 30 years.

Hi - my arthritis has raised it's head again - after a long sleep. Both hands, both knees and both ankles. X-ray of right knee some years ago was diagnosed as osteo arthritis. Anybody else?

At the moment my PsA is 3 years age and so far no OA or any other mentionings by my Doc. Thanks Laila

Yes, you can certainly have both. I do have. I am in my 60s, first had psoriasis age 22. OA diagnosed 10+years ago, classic worn-out areas and also associated with a neck injury from my rugby days and a broken toe. More recently I have been diagnosed with PSA in fingers - classic enlarged joints. Osteoarthritis is caused basically by wear and tear, or can be triggered from fractures. It is not generally an inflammatory condition in the way that PSA or rheumatoid Arthritis are.

I have been told you can have both as well as degenerative disc disease. Such fun.

Hi,I have had PSA for about five years and I'm currently taking Amgevita (adalimumad) injections which are doing me the world of good, No more psoriasis, happy days! I still get pains but not as bad, but developed osteoarthritis in both my knees about three years ago, so you can have both.

My diagnosis recently was probable psoriatic arthritis with underlying OA so I guess yes you can have both.
