Hi , just wondered if anyone has had a flare up of their psoriatic Arthritis since their last AstraZeneca jab .
Mine has been probably the worst ever , just wondered if it is coincidence or has anyone experienced the same.
1Posted Thu 24 Jun 2021 06.50 by michelle373 I have had psoriasis for 24 years.
Hi I've had psoriasis for 30 years and since having both of the covid vaccinations it has flared up I've never had it this bad.Other people I know with psoriasis has said the same thing again it might be a coincidence.I have a Dr's appointment today hopefully they can give me something to calm it down its so sore.I hope yours improves and I wish you all the best.
I have had psoriasis since 1980. I had a very big flare-up of guttate 2 years ago after a total hip replacement, which subsided after 8 months. I have now had both my covid vaccinations, Astra-Zenica, and absolutely no increase in my psoriasis of any sort.
Hi , Thanks for your response,
Sorry. Didn’t make myself very clear.
I suffer from psoriatic arthritis and since my last AstraZeneca jab my arthritis has been worse than I’ve ever had. This has manifested in my knees, can hardly walk in the morning, Perhaps a coincidence. My skin is about the same as always.
I must stress that I would still not hesitate to have the vaccine. As this even as might be a result is better than the alternative .

I am in the arly stages of psoriatic arthritis also, and have quite a bit of osteo-arthritis. But since the A-Z vaccinations, I have seen no change in the psoriatic arthritis yet. My last (second) vaccination was May 19.
I have had both of my vaccines and have noticed no change in my PsA (thankfully). Though i got the Pfizer one. We are all different, and things can effect one more than the other. My wife has some RA now, and her first Pfizer injection did flare it up for a few day's.
I've developed a rather nasty psoriasis in my mouth since my second A-Z jab - a very painful geographic tongue - and my foot starting acting up again and weight bearing is painful again. It's definitely feeling like a flare up.

I've have lived with psoriasis for 60 years with quite a few flare ups. For a number of years I've lived thankfully without any flare ups until January 2020 when I had I terrible shock of the police at my door with the news my stepmother had passed away ,from then on I had the most horrendous flare up my back was the worst but I'd never had it on my arms and legs till then. This went on throughout 2020 in Feb 2021 I had my first Astra-zenica jab within 3 weeks I could see a change on my skin in April I had my second jab again in 3weeks skin absolutely clear I can't believe after the year I'd had going to hospital ect
I had the worst flares I've ever had, guttate, after three AZ vaccine, a bit after the first then +++ within 7 days after the second dose. Each time associated with small joint pains.
Note 2 months on showing no sign of resolving.

Hi there. I actually emailed my clinical nurse specialist as I have had the same. I'm on biologic Stelara and had both AZ jabs. Both my Sterlara jabs were delayed 10days after AZ. I have chronic skin psoriasis (which cleared on Stelara) and psoriatic arthritis that comes and goes. I'm now about a month after 2nd AZ and have had a scalp flare, dotty skin psoriasis and a a jump in joint issues. My hands wake me up through the night where I can't move them. They are stiff during the day but at night they are very bad.
The clinical team called me back and said that they have had quite a few patients report skin and arthritis flares after AZ.
I'm glad I had the vacinne and hoping my next Sterlara jab will rectify what's happened.
The clinical team have brought my Rhuemotology appointment forward
It's my first time on here, so hello.
I've had psoriasis on my scalp since a teenager, with occasional flare ups else where.
I am 52 and shortly after my second pfizer vaccine started to get pain and swelling in my feet, ankles, wrist and thumb. My GP has said my inflammatory markers are raised and has referred me to a rheumatologist. My skin is the worst it's ever been. My GP thought it was probably just coincidence that it coincides the the vaccine, but perhaps not.
I'm now 2 months after my second vaccine and the flare-up is slowly going down.
I also had aches and pains in the small joints of my hands that came on after each vaccination, but seem to be persistent now.

I'm a 75 UK white male. Until the second AZ shot who had a happy life and although my skin type is dry but it always had been good and well moisturised.
Im a Coeliac who has followed a very strict gluten-free diet for the past 20 years. A micro trace of gluten 20+ ppm leads to a dermatitis herpetiformis pink rash that's just there and i can sleep with it.
Since my second AZ jab, late april, i've had a painful growing rash: sore, burning, stabbing. itchy...sort of a thousand papercuts...and sleepless nights despite pain relief and powerful antihistamines...
After 8 weeks of this I finally get before a senior practice nurse and a real doctor...not easy when you are deaf and you've got to get past the harridan on the phone and figure out how to send an online photo ( i'm not exactly a geek).
I've had to change to gentler: body wash, deodorant & body lotion...boring!
it's psoriasis the man says...something like bubonic plague , something else yet to arrive. Heavy steroid and thick grease seem to be getting the better of this thing called psoriasis, which i've never had, none ever in my family and no i'm not stressed, i have a happy comfortable retirement,
I'm slowly going blind having a triple whammy of: cataracts, glaucoma and AMD so apologies for any typos or grammatical errors.
i'm just plain angry about the aftereffect of my full course of AZ vaccinations There I've said it and got it off my chest. Back to listening to Portuguese Fado.

Hi Ebee & Sizzy
Just wondered if you've had any improvement yet. I've had PSA for over 10yrs which has been successfully controlled by MTX. I had my 1st Pfizer jab in Feb and my liver markers were raised. I then had my 2nd Pfizer in May and my liver markers have gradually been rising ever since. In the past 8 weeks I have suffered the biggest flare up I have ever had - I cant walk, sit, drive or get up the stairs, the pain is just excruciating. My specialist has now taken me off MTX and the liver markers have started to come down but the inflammatory markers are still through the roof! even after I've had 3 steroid injections in the past 2 months. I am back at the specialist on Wednesday and they are considering other options but also oral steroids to settle the inflammation. Just wondered if you, or anyone else who has experienced a massive arthritis flare up, have managed to get it back under control

I have had a severe reaction to the second and third vaccines. I've not had Psoriasis since being 8 years old.
But after these vaccines including monkey pox vaccines I feel these have made psoriasis to come back on my forehead, head, ears, elbows, legs. I have been now unable to socialise and go out like before. The psoriasis is painful and itchy.
I'm also experiencing severe joint aches and pains.
I'm eating heathy food including fruits and getting out when I can for light excerice. But the psoriasis seems to move around, disappears and reappear. It's been over 6 months since all this has started and now my mental health is being affected by all this.
Hi,
There must be a connection to vaccines and psoriasis.
I had the pfizer vaccine and a flare up. I wanted to get another viccine this year but our NHS does not give them normally. It means that you have to be a severe allergic person with a lot of other illnesses to get them.
I think, the reason for it is, buying one type from the supplier and signing a long term contracts.
I tried every health body and GPs, but I cannot get the vaccine I want, even privately.
Nobody cares if my scalp is flaking so badly that I have to wash my hair every day, this is not a reason for NHS.
I am not happy and it is my body.
