Psoriatic Arthritis is ruining my life

Posted Mon 20 Dec 2021 08.15 by Murphy

Im 15 right now, I've had psoriasis since I was 5 and it ruined my confidence and self-esteem at school, because of treatment I got over it as plaques went away and I could be normal, but cos of me being so ashamed of myself I never spoke to people and at school tried to stay alone so made no friends. Primary was shit. High school came and I could finally make some friends and so on. I joined the football team and was having fun at school when psoriasis came back again and I didn't really mind because I kept it down with adjusting my diet and was going to get treatment soon. My pain got more and more sever day by day rendering me unable to workout, once I stopped working out, it got worst, spread to my legs from my shoulders and back, my fingers began to swell and so did my knees righr after, I literally can't take it I had so many fuckin dreams and eveythings gettin ruined by this Psoriatic crap, I developed it way too early on and don't know wtf im going to do. They said they'd give me immunal response represents but I fear that wont help me recover fully and only make me weaker and catch more diseases ans sickness. What do I do if I've got Psoriatic Arthritis at such a young age? If it was in my 30s or 40s Id be fine but not at 15!

Hi I am a 50yr old male who has been living with severe psoriatic arthritis since the age of 29

Hi Murphy I'm really sorry to hear this I myself had Psoriatic Arthritis at a young age but I wasn't diagnosed until almost 30 so there are positives to your story the main being they've found it and diagnosed it early but I won't lie to you it isn't gonna be easy in no uncertain terms. There are many things you can do to help including your diet, keeping as active as possible but your biggest battle will be your mental health as this illness will turn your world upside down so the first hurdle is accepting your diagnosis and that you will have to change things in your life to accommodate this also talking about it with family and friends helps them understand as you will need a good support network around you if the illness gets worse and more severe. The disease is rampant in me and I've had lots of operations and joint replacements and have been on all treatments to try and calm it down so I do understand everything your thinking and feeling right now but with the right treatment and support you can have a relatively normal life you just have to make a few sacrifices to accommodate your illness I'm here if you wanna talk or ask any questions about anything so please get in touch you are not alone we can swap contact details if you want so you can contact me whenever.

How about trying Acuraflex? It is natural, as long as I know there are no side effect. My mother uses It as remedy for sciatica, it may help you too!

In general, people with PsA can enjoy walking, indoor and outdoor cycling, swimming or warm-water exercise, yoga, and tai chi. A physical therapist or a qualified fitness or health professional can help you create an exercise plan that makes sense for you. link for you guys it helps you more to get info about arithis and rheumatology. https://snsrheumatology.com/

My heart goes out to you! But there is help for you. It sounds as if you have seen a consultant - dermatology or rheumatology but if you have not please press your GP for an urgent referral to both Dermatology and Rheumatology sp? Psoriatic Arthritis treatment needs to start early and quite aggressively in drug terms. You can live a normal life as others have said but not without getting treatment. **** the Pandemic and the Government for bringing the NHS to its knees and extending the waiting lists. It's quite a long journey to get things under control but you have made a good step in posting here. It helps to "talk" to people who have been there and really do understand. You are not alone and there is help for you that can get things under control so you can have a normal life
