Hi sorry I will try to keep this as short as I can. I had psoriasis covering my whole body from the age of 11. I used steroid creams, moisturisers everyday for years. I discovered the sunbeds when I was 18,I started to use them and only moisturise. It went I had it under control, had 3 flare ups after each of my pregnancy ages 21,25,and age 29. It always stayed in patches on my knees and elbows.now age 37 I hardly get it on my elbows or knees now.
But... i have suffered with jmy knees joint pain, stiffness locking, buckling on me I had cartlidge removed 10 years ago in my right knee. Last year my left knee locked and my meniscus did 180 degree turn so had to have it repaired. After an MRI on my left knee (I had to beg for) he said I had a tear some freying and knee bone damage, and bakers cysts behind my knee.
My back locks and is stiff every morning, my fingers and hands ache, I have been going to my doctors for years and I'm told it was my weight so I lost 3 stone. I went to a specialist years ago she said I have runners knees? Do I run?? I said no I dont. Iv been told that the locking and clicking is normal, (that is why it locked so bad my meniscus moved.)
I have pleaded for appt with rheumatologist finally got one it was a video call so we could see eachother. I explained everything to him, and he is saying g he doesn't think it is psa he thinks it is fibromyalgia, he will send me for an xray on my hands and feet.
I dont feel fatally confident with him, I feel as though he has written me off before he has actually seen me. He seems to think that because of all the years iv suffered that it cant be psa and general wear and tear. ( why would someone in there 20's have wear and tear like that) and it is now worse in my 30's.

I have had psoriatic arthritis for 2 years.
I developed psoriatic arthritis about 20 years after being diagnosed with psoriasis. Took me three months to get an appointment with a rheumatologist. Have you Googled the symptoms of knee problems with psa.? Everyone's symptoms can be different but you can find the most common symptoms listed. I think you should try to find another rheumatologist and visit in person. Also have you considered acupuncture for pain management and mobility issues. It has really helped me and after two years of psoriatic arthritis my last X-rays showed no joint damage and I believe the treatment that I was receiving at the acupuncture clinic along with the herbal medications they gave me has helped tremendously.
Posted Wed 13 Jul 2022 21.23 by Kelly Hi, I'm 49 years old. Diagnosed with psa about 6 years ago. Had symptoms for 10 years prior to diagnosis.
Hi, it sounds like rheumatoid arthritis. My sister in law needs a bilateral knee replacement and she is 40 years old. She finally got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Hope this helps. I suffer from Psa and the pain is excruciating at times.

Hi Mydadpeter,
I am new to this forum. I discovered psoriasis in my early teens. Now I only have it on the scalp. I feel for you.
I can only comment on my own experiences. What I noticed over the years is, that antidepressants definitely helped me with psoriasis. Also, I avoid any form of vinegar.
Recently however, I noticed that my psoriasis was getting worse and I am not sure if it was due to: covid vaccines, mebeverine, beta-blockers or mixing all together. It is impossible to say.
Going back to your situation, it is difficult to say what can help, you have a few problems going on at the same time. Could it be all that steroid you used in previous years? Could it be something running in your family? You need an attention of a good doctor, who will care, along a good nutritionist to guide you through the long term diet plan.
Acupuncture and herbal medications can help, under a qualified guidance.
Best wishes.
