Thanks ladies.
Have asked for another reference to consultant to see if there is any other treatment I can try.
Meantime carry on with Calcipotriol . Thank heavens for the NH !

Hi everyone.
I have had scalp psoriasis for many years. The only thing that helped until now was Dovovet steroid lotion. And Capasal shampoo. It just helped not totally cleared it. I have tried numerous treatments. I just wanted to share my experience using umberto giannini rosemary scalp oil. It has def helped reduce the buildup. I guess different things help different people. But I just wanted to share in case it helps any of you too. 🥰
I also used to use tea tree shampoo which seemed to make it feel better. I used to use an oil, rub it on at night and sleep with a shower cap. My whole scalp would peel, it was frustrating but felt better.

Dead Sea salt conditioner works well for some people. There are other products as well, soaps, shampoos, lotion etc. I was surprised, I used Dead Sea salt soap and it actually calmed down my psoriasis. It is nice for the face as well, as it is anti inflammatory.

hi, Have you tried the betnovate scalp from doctors ?
my scalp was really bad around the sides and front, this worked wonders within 2 weeks - 3 times a week after a shower - coiincide that with using Oilatum shampoo and i hope this will help you in any way
good luck, Ryan

Hi. I’ve had scalp psoriasis for 4 years and nothing from Doctor worked. Referred to dermatologist and consultant put me on Enstillar with Cocois which hadn’t before. Anyway initially it worked then didn’t. Head weeps after using Cocois and is sore. Loads of hair loss. So depressing having spent months with greasy, lank hair. Now recommended to start Ciclosporin in October as nothing topical has helped. A bit nervous and wondering when I stop the drugs, it will all start again? Regarding itching, a Doctor recommended antihistamine which definitely helps me at night

Hi - I've been on Cyclosporin - it cleared my psoriasis - certainly it came back when I stopped taking it, but it worked while I was on it, which is all you can ask, really.

So frustrating, I have used Betamethasone valerate liquid and also Lidex liquid. It's got an official name but who can spell it lol!

I feel your pain. Scalp is the pits. The burning, the embarrassing itching, not being able to wear dark colours cos you are covered in skin flakes. I've been in Methotrexate and Apremilast which helped my plaque psoriasis slightly but never my scalp. I just keep using Betnovate scalp application and (stinky) Capasal shampoo daily but if I miss a day then watch out!!! My ears also have a build up of flakes which not only look unsightly but affect my hearing. All the best 👍
Shampoos with salicylic acid such as Dermarest can help keep the layers at bay. Some folks even wash their hair with a mix of baking soda with water that creates like a paste you scrub on your scalp to remove layers.
