Hyperpigmentation?

Hello! I’ve managed to clear plaque and guttate psoriasis on bottom half of my leg with dovobet ointment.. My skin is clear and smooth now on the surface! HOWEVER underneath my skin, it is very red where the psoriasis once was! Is there any way for me to get rid of this?! I’m concerned as I had hip replacement surgery cancelled due to the psoriasis and don’t want to have this happen again, as I have already been given another date! Any advice would be great thanks! :)

A P sufferer for over 30 years, through good and bad times.

Time should clear it, if it doesn't return in the same place. Good luck

From Lichen Planus to Plaque Psoriasis to Palmoplantar and Nail psoriasis - newly diagnosed 2023

I've got this from using Enstillar, it's fading slowly. Hoping a good summer of skin exposure will sort it. Mine is mostly upper thighs and lower back.

There is a huge difference between areas of active psoriasis and residual pigmentation. Your doctors should have no trouble telling the difference. I'm about six months post phototherapy (which worked really well) and I'm just starting to see the pigmentation on the worst affected areas start to fade.
