Argan Oil

Just wondered if anyone had tried Argan Oil as a treatment? I've had psoriasis for over 40yrs and, generally, I've been lucky that it's never been too painful - just mildly irritating (I genuinely feel for those who suffer badly). Over the last year or so I have seen an increase in "Raindrop psoriasis" that is becoming more widespread, and "Angry", across a lot of my body, so feel I need to take some action to try and counter this. Apart from Argan Oil, any other suggestions would be welcome - I've tried many of the GP prescribed treatments but none have ever really been much good. Thanks

Hi RalphES - raindrop psoriasis is an interesting phrase. Never heard that before, but it’s a good description. I have some of it also. I’ve never tried argan oil on my skin, but I used to use it in my curly, dry hair and I liked it. It wasn’t too heavy and I found some pure oil (not the ones with all the extra chemicals) online. All the best with things

@RalphES - oh bless you, back when I had guttate psoriasis in early 2000s - I tried every natural oil, lotion & potion and I'm so sorry I found nothing worked, other than they all helped keep my skin moist, as I found clingfilming body parts overnight & even during the day was helpful for retaining moisturise, but I only ever did this with natural oils only. Would you be allowed light therapy? That's what really helped clear me. Hope you find something to help you xx

Thanks both. Never thought about light therapy, I'll look into that.

Argan oil can be a great option for managing psoriasis, especially given its natural moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E, which can help soothe dry, irritated skin and reduce inflammation. Many people with psoriasis have found that applying argan oil regularly can help soften plaques, calm flare-ups, and improve overall skin hydration. Given your experience with psoriasis, trying argan oil as part of your skincare routine could be beneficial. It’s gentle and natural, making it a worthwhile option to explore. ( I saw high quality argan oil here also - Morrocanzest

Hi there, Argan oil is known for its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties, which might be beneficial for managing psoriasis. It can help soothe dry, irritated skin and improve overall skin hydration. Many people find it helpful as part of their skincare routine. In addition to argan oil, you might want to explore other natural treatments like aloe vera gel, which has soothing properties, or coconut oil, which is also great for moisturizing. Some people find relief with topical applications of oatmeal baths or epsom salt soaks. It’s always a good idea to consult with a dermatologist before trying new treatments, especially if you have persistent or worsening symptoms. Wishing you relief and better skin health! Thank you both for the 'Morrocanzest.com' suggestion, unfortunately I do not live in the U.S. which, with shipping, makes the cost prohibitive to order from this site.

I’ve been dealing with psoriasis for over 40 years, and recently, it’s been flaring up more than usual. I’ve heard about people using natural oils like Argan Oil, which has a lot of benefits for skin health (I read about it here https://moroccanzest.com/argan-oil-benefits/). Has anyone else had experience with it for psoriasis? I’m considering giving it a go since prescribed treatments haven’t worked that well for me lately. Any other natural remedies people recommend?
