Psoriasis, fungal infection, or something else?

My skin is very prone to breakouts of fungal infection, especially after a bug bite. Usually it occurs on my legs and I just slap on some betamethasone dipropionate to clear it up. This one appeared on my inner thigh and all over my groin area. After a few weeks of it not going away, my doctor thought it was fungal and said betamethasone is too general, so gave me clotrimazole instead. After a few days, the infected area seems to be growing a bit. Should I be worried or try to switch meds? I will have another chat with my doctor in a week.
