Does anyone have any experience of using Enstilar specifically for severe guttate psoriasis?

I used it for 3 weeks. It was brutal for my mental health. It cleared the guttate almost immediately but after stopping it came back 2 weeks later.
I've never used steroids and this is a strong steroid treatment.
I don't know if this is helpful.

I'm new here so not sure doing this right I have used enstilar for 8 months now about once a day spray on my back sometimes on my legs at first it was good stopped itching cleared up the skin then the red marks were left skin bled easily if knocked but told keep using it now my psoriasis is better but red marks very visable and I have lots pimple like small red marks too but still using like dermatologist said, no other effects from use.....but psoriasis keeps coming back.should I just stop use as I don't know what to do .......thanku
Hi Cheri - thanks for your message. I’m not sure the best way to come off Enstilar and interested to hear others’ thoughts.
I’ve used it for ages on plaque psoriasis mostly, but also guttate - on my legs. I know it’s very strong so I’ve been trying moving to alternate days with clobestasone the other days. And now just daily clobetasone (moderate steroid ointment). However the psoriasis has been coming back quite a lot - patches getting redder, bigger, more itchy - plus some new patches - plaque and guttate.
I’d love to hear if others have successfully managed to come off Enstilar and how long it took and what to do about flare ups.
A tricky road. I know I am definitely keeping Enstilar in mind to return to in spring/summer, as my legs look so bad with the flare up. I’d love to find another way if possible, though.
I’ve tried loads of alternative/diet things, but they either haven’t worked for me, or have worked for a few months and then it’s come back anyway.

1 enstilar definitely gets rid of psoriasis.
2.it will ALWAYS return.
3.the strong steroid in enstilar definitely affects my mood and not in a good way (personal experience).
4.today I ordered a uva photo therapy lamp.... I'm done with steroids! Period!
Just a quick update on my experience with Enstilar.
Sadly this didn’t touch my psoriasis (However I do have a very severe case). The only steroid I have ever used (and I’ve pretty much used them all!) that made any difference at all was Diprosalic Ointment. However my psoriasis quickly gets used to it and then it becomes ineffective. It’s also a lot thicker and stickier than Dovabet, enstilar etc so is a nightmare to use and very uncomfortable.
My dermatologist has prescribed me Clobaderm to try as this is the only one I haven’t used yet. And weirdly Clobetasol Shampoo works incredibly well on my scalp so perhaps the ointment version could be effective on my skin.
For context I have guttate psoriasis and have tried phototherapy and ciclosporin and neither worked for me!
For anyone with scalp psoriasis I would definitely ask to try Clobestasol shampoo. I used so many things in the past and that’s the only thing that works for me
Annie1962 do let us know here how you get on with your lamp. Hope it goes great.
And SollyWin it’d be great to hear how the Clobestasol goes for you. Fingers crossed it’s a good one.

i rented a hospital grade UVB sun bed type thing specifically for psoriasis and it was a waste of time - and money. I then got referred for proper light therapy at the Churchill in Oxford. I had 33 of 36 treatments. i had to stop because at first the treatments helped but then I kept having flare ups and the treatments became very painful. I have used Enstillar for years. it worked at first but now doesnt. I have also used Dermovate which is an even stronger steroid. The dermatologist was very nervous about prescribing me this and said I must use it sparingly. I have now been referred to the severe psoriasis unit at Guys in London. I feel like Geoff Goldblum in the fly....my skin is literally covered all over in plaques. There are no healthy bits of skin except for on my face....which I'm dreading will be next. I guess in conclusion I would say that everyone's psoriasis is different and from what I've read and from my own experience you just have to keep going until you find something that works for you. I haven't found that yet unfortunately.
