Hello everyone. I’m so glad I found this site . I’m a newbie psoriasis on both my feet.
Walking is difficult. Pain , burning results in cutting any exercise short .
Just a question does anyone else have it on their soles of the feet? I’m finding that my footwear has become uncomfortable. Would anyone recommend a type of shoe/ trainer that could help with walking .
Tia
Yes, I got palmar plantar (literally palms and soles) psoriasis about five years ago out of the blue. It made it incredibly painful to walk any distance at all - I had an overgrowth of skin cells on my feet, which then caused agonising splits on the soles. I went through all the creams the GP could prescribe, getting stronger and stronger while it got worse and worse, until finally I was referred to a dermatologist. She also went through all the protocol of various other creams and a course of light treatment, none of which helped at all. After six months I was eventually given a very aggressive drug called Acitretin (not suitable for women of child-bearing age, but I was in my 60s). It was a miracle drug for me and I noticed the difference almost immediately.. I gradually reduced the dose and finished taking it altogether several months later. The psoriasis has stayed in remission ever since, thankfully. I still moisturise my feet every night and wear cotton socks over the top. I think you need to see your GP and/or a dermatologist. Good luck with it!

Hi Alex . Yes ive seen my gp and shes prescibed the creams to soften , and steroid cream & soap alternative . I know its early days yet .
I think ive had p for 7 months but thought it might go away ob its own . It got worse . Gp only diagnosed pp a week ago . I already use a stick as i have long term neuropathy in my feet from having chemo two years ago . I guess i have to be patient and keep looking after my feet with the above lotions & creams . Thanks for replying .
Hi
I have had planter pulmonary psoriasis on both feet, they were incredibly sore, but my doctor referred me for PUVA Light treatment and luckily it worked. Also the hospital dermatologist told me to use flexidol heal barm and QV cream as a moisturiser and QV wash for bathing. I have been clear now for 12months.
Good luck 👍

Hi
I’m so glad the treatment you’ve had has worked .
Maybe I’ll get my Gp to refer me to a dermatologist. Thank you for sharing advice.
