Hi I'm claire am 50 years old married and have a 6 month old cavalier king charles spaniel

Hi my name is claire I've had psoriasis for 3 to 4 years. Patches are only on my lower back and hips. My question is how do I find out what type of psoriasis I've got?

The ideal way is to see a dematologist. Of course, currently in the UK you need to see a GP first. Some GPs are quite knowledgable about psoriasis, and some seem to know almost nothing. Have you not been formally diagnosed yet in 3 or 4 years? You can also look on internet, there are sites giving descriptions and showing photos of typical types (eg Plaque or guttate, or . . .I am not sure what other common types there are).

Thank you for your response. I have seen 1 doc who knows nothing and referred me to dermatologist and 1 private dermatologist who just gave me 3 ointments and left it to me to find out which one works. I've used all 3 and still clueless. No-one has actually said a type. Can you suggest any relevant websites please?

I won the lottery of 4 diseases and a slipped disk in one month. I'm always told that's the most extreme case I've seen. But chins Up!

If there isn't any little white blisters involved. You can rule out Pustular Psoriasis.

Hi I'm claire am 50 years old married and have a 6 month old cavalier king charles spaniel

Hi thank you for your response. My patches seem to be bright red and have very dry skin. I'm using zerobase cream which helps moisturising skin and stops itching but some of the patches I can peel layers of skin off others just seem to calm down. I've even got patches on my groin area which is more difficult to handle giving the itching. Any advice pls?
