Have just started on metformin a month ago My psoriasis is improving almost afraid to say don’t know if the is because of the metformin or the fact I have cut sugar out of my diet and given up alcohol completely don’t miss it now at all will keep you updated also drink lots of water. Thank you for reply , well I'm half way there I don't drink at all alcohol I mean 😅 I probably don't drink as much water as I should and have cut the carbs back but my flare is messing with my blood sugar last week my fasting blood was 18.6mmol and I had very little to eat night before and nothing to eat or drink when I did that reading , I have noticed when I eat anything at all my pustules are irritated and risen , it seems when I'm eating my flare worsens so the reason for me asking the question ......I have since read that doctors aren't keen on using Metformin if you have a GPP flare which I do and since 23rd January, I think lack of sleep with the itching and burning is possibly causing more inflammation and could be messing with bloods , I have Dermatology 2nd May so see what happens , need a med with a kick to calm this flare , best of luck to you .

I forgot to say doctor prescribed dovonex which I use once a day it’s not a:steroid But I have used it for years just keeps it under control but doesn’t help much. Also use zero base for moisturiser. I try to stick to chicken and salmon and lots of veg and fruit am losing weight which I think always helps My psoriasis doesn’t itch so that’s good Don’t eat red meat I don’t know if that helps Hope things get better for you

Hiya again , I'm not sure what Dermatology will come up with , 2016 I was diagnosed with Pustular psoriasis but the GPP part is what pushed them to do a biopsy and think that's how they knew , it's quite a worry that I've spoken to 3 doctors since January and a nurse but only one doctor had heard of it , because its rare it doesn't seem to be acknowledged by medical profession even when it's our biggest organ that's in trouble .
I admit I will be trying different things to eat now , I'm not entirely sure about zero sugar ......it is hard-core that , 🤔 thanks again Ellie
