I have suffered for about 15 years first with flakes of skin in my head then p on my elbows then knees then my legs and back. usual creams treated the problem a little. About 6 months ago I got gout in a joint and was prescribed Allopurinol tablets. It may be a coincidence but me psoriasis has cleared up. I mentioned it to my GP and the pharmicist who said no trials had been made but it may be worth other sufferers trying it out. As I said it may be a coincidence but since taking these tablets the difference is amazing I feel ok wearing short sleeve shirts dark coloured tops and shorts again

I have just joined the psoriasis association and saw your comment.I have had psoriasis for 40 years and got gout 5 years ago. I am on allopurinol and have just come out with the most terrible outbreak of psoriasis, all over face and chest and back of hands, all places where it is so visible. I tried all the usual creams with no success. Then I saw a letter an American lady posted about using nappy cream or diaper cream as they call it. I have a large jar of Sudofed which was used for my grandchildren. I covered myself in this near bedtime for 3 nights and used Aveno in the day..the improvement has been miraculous. My face is nearly clear and my chest just looks like sunburn but is s lot less inflamed. The backs of my hands has faded. Give it a go!
