PIF Tick Re-accreditation 2025
One of The Psoriasis Association’s key aims is to provide information, advice and support to those living with the condition.
We pride ourselves on providing up-to-date, quality information to those who need it, and this has been recognised through being awarded PIF Tick accreditation, for the 5th year running.
What is PIF Tick Accreditation?

The PIF Tick is an accreditation system designed to help patients identify trustworthy sources of health information.
It is awarded to organisations that meet the standards for the quality, accuracy, and clarity of their patient information.
PIF (Patient Information Forum), is a charitable organisation for people working in health information. In 2020, the PIF TICK scheme was set up to help people find reliable health information.
Why is PIF Tick accreditation important?
By receiving this accreditation, the Psoriasis Association has demonstrated that our resources are not only credible but also tailored to the needs of those living with psoriasis. This ensures we are providing you with accurate, practical and useful information.
In the current digital era, it’s easy to get caught up in the latest trends and viral treatments and come across information which is not medically accurate. The PIF TICK accreditation is the only UK quality mark for trustworthy health information.
Therefore, when you see the PIF TICK on leaflets, websites, apps or videos, you can be assured that the organisation’s health information has been through a professional and robust production process.
PIF Tick Essential Criteria:
- Information is created using a consistent and documented process.
- Staff are trained and supported to produce high-quality information.
- Information meets an identified consumer need.
- Information is based on reliable, up-to-date evidence.
- Patients are involved in the development of health information.
- Information is written in plain English.
- Print and digital information is easy to use and navigate.
- Users can give feedback on information.
- Information is promoted to make sure it reaches those who need it.
- The impact of information is measured.
The assessment process for PIF Tick approval is thorough, and The Psoriasis Association had to demonstrate our health information meets the above criteria as well as receiving professional input, detailed reviews and is easy to understand.
