Are you passionate about making life better for people with psoriasis? The Psoriasis Association is currently looking to recruit new Trustees with a nursing background.
Join our Board of Trustees at an exciting time for the Psoriasis Association, and a crucial time for the health sector and dermatology services.
Founded in 1968, the Psoriasis Association has a strong reputation as the leading national charity for people with psoriasis; providing vital information, advice and support and funding ground-breaking research. Trustees play an integral part in the good governance of the Psoriasis Association. Meaning that alongside your fellow Trustees you help to ensure that the organisation remains viable and sustainable whilst our work adheres closely to the main objectives of the charity.
We are looking for new Trustees with a nursing background (Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialists or Research Nurse in a Dermatology setting). Applicants should have an affinity with our aim of providing support to all those with or affected by psoriasis / psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in the UK. You would bring an up-to-date understanding of treating psoriasis (in primary, secondary and / or tertiary care settings) and knowledge of the experiences people go through in order to access care. An understanding of working within health research would be equally valuable. We are interested in recruiting Trustees from all ethnic backgrounds and residing in any part of the UK.
What impact will this opportunity have for the Psoriasis Association?
We have excellent and committed existing Trustees and are seeking to strengthen the nurse profession representation on our Board. As a Trustee you will use your background and skills to support, help and guide the charity and the Senior Management Team, we believe we will be in a stronger position to achieve our objectives.
How will being a Trustee benefit me?
Getting involved as a Trustee of the Psoriasis Association is a great way to put your professional skills to use to a cause you’re passionate about. You will be playing an integral role in the way the charity is run and influence agenda for people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. By giving / sharing your expertise, ideas and perspectives you will help shape important decisions. Being a Trustee is as fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people.

We can offer training in areas relevant to the role.
What is expected from me? The Trustee role is voluntary (out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed) and you would be expected to attend three Trustee meetings per year, plus the AGM. Meetings are held online and in-person.
