It's Psoriasis Awareness Week 2022!
This year's theme is living well with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
Psoriasis Awareness Week 2022 starts today (World Psoriasis Day) and runs until Friday 4th November. It aims to raise awareness of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. This year's theme is living well with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
Both may be chronic conditions, but that doesn't mean that life has to stop once diagnosed. On the contrary, over the course of this week we'll be sharing examples from our communities of how people use their hobbies and passions to continue to live their best lives with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
This 'living well' mantra has also inspired a refresh of our website, which uses a new range of images from the 'active lifestyles' photoshoot that we held earlier this year. Take a look around and let us know what you think.
You can get involved in Psoriasis Awareness Week too! Download our Supporters Pack and share your support on social media using our digital toolkit and the hashtags #PsoLiveWell and #PAW22.
We also have a FREE webinar on palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) taking place this week, and we'll be out in the community holding awareness days too. Find out more below.
Finding your feet with Palmoplantar Pustulosis - FREE webinar - Thursday 3rd November at 6pm
The Psoriasis Association and St John's DermAcademy are delighted to collaborate for a third time to bring you 'Finding your feet with Palmoplantar Pustulosis (PPP)', a FREE webinar of informative talks from experts at the forefront of psoriasis research and practice, taking place via Zoom on Thursday 3rd November 2022 at 6pm.
Palmoplantar Pustulosis (PPP), is a type of pustular psoriasis which causes fluid-filled pustules to appear on top of red or darkened skin on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. It can be painful and debilitating. If you are living with PPP yourself, or you have a friend or family member who is, then this event may be of particular interest to you!
Click on the event flyer for a full agenda, and learn more about the speakers and their talks here.
The evening will conclude with a Q&A - an opportunity for you to put your questions to the whole panel, including Psoriasis Association Chief Executive, Helen McAteer.
Places for the webinar are limited and you must register in advance.
Awareness days - Raising awareness in the community
For the first time since 2019, we are looking forward to getting back out into the community during Psoriasis Awareness Week by holding two psoriasis awareness days. These events provide a welcome opportunity to chat to members of the general public, hear people's real-life experiences first-hand, and provide our range of information resources to those who may need them.
