Rare Disease Day 2025
Today, 28th February 2025, is Rare Disease Day. The aim of the day is to raise awareness on rare diseases and works towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis.
There are 300 million people across the globe living with a rare disease and over 6,000 different rare diseases have been identified.
Although psoriasis is not classed as a rare disease, certain types of psoriasis such as erythrodermic psoriasis and pustular psoriasis are considered rare forms condition affecting 2% and 3% of people living with psoriasis, respectively.
The impact of a condition such as generalised pustular psoriasis can take a toll on all aspects of someone's life, we recently completed a survey encouraging people living with GPP to discuss their experiences of living with the condition. Here's what they had to say:
